"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Calvin asked Cameron as they stood in an empty room. "Cal, I'm sorry-" Cameron tried to speak. Calvin shook his head. "I don't care about that. You don't just beat the living shit out of your dad, man." Calvin tells him.
Cameron sighed. "If you were in my shoes you would understand. Now, please let me look at your cheek." He answered. Calvin stopped him when he tried to move closer. "No, first I want to know what you made me so angry," Calvin tells him.
"My father. He's the one that makes me angry. He's the one that put my sister here in the first place!" He exclaimed. "What are you talking about?" Calvin asked him.
"I am talking about that fucker out there! He put my sister in here because he lost a stupid case! He almost killed her, Calvin! How would you feel if your father started to beat up your sister?!" He exclaimed. Calvin was silent making Cameron sigh.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't yell," he said quietly and stepped closer to him. He put his hand on his cheek and saw that it was slowly turning purple.
"I'm so sorry, Cal." He whispered. "It's nothing," Calvin said, "I just don't understand." He added. Cameron looked him in the eyes. "Why aren't you just telling the truth?" Calvin asked him. Cameron raised his eyebrow and let go of his cheek.
"What?" He asked him. "Clarke told Charlie about your dad, I overheard them talking in Charlie's room the other day." He said,Calvin walked past the room of his little sister where he heard two little girls giggle. "You're my best friend!" Charlie exclaimed. "You are my best friend too," Clarke told her friend. This made Calvin smile. He was so glad his sister finally made a good friend. "Can I ask you something?" Charlie asked her friend. "Does your brother love my brother?" She continued. There was a short silence before Clarke replied. "I think he does. He always talks about him." Clarke responded. Both girls giggled and continued to play with their bears. Calvin smiled and was about to walk away when he heard Clarke speak again. "Can I ask you something?" She asked her friend. "Does your daddy hurt you when he's angry?" Clarke asked her friend. "No," Charlie answered. "Oh. My daddy hurts us when he is angry or if we do something wrong. Cammy always protects me and mommy." The little girl told her friend. "I'm sorry to hear that, CC, we can always have a sleepover if your daddy's mean again," Charlie suggests. "We should do that!" Clarke exclaimed. Clarke and Charlie both cheered in happiness.
"She asked Charlie if her daddy hurt her as well. Why didn't you tell me? And don't say you were trying to protect me." Calvin asked him. Cameron glanced at his feet. "It's not something that's a lot of fun to talk about." He admitted.
"But why didn't you tell me? I've asked you like a million times where your bruises came from and you lied to me. Over and over again." Calvin tells him. The sound of Calvin's voice made Cameron's heart shatter into a thousand pieces. And looking at the bruise on his cheek made him feel even worse. "I am turning into my father." He whispered.
He walked over to the wall and slid down against it and hides his face in his hands. Calvin quickly sat next to him. "You're not." He tried to comfort him. "How could you know? I am lying and hurting the people I love." Cameron said before letting a tear slip from his eye. Calvin moves to sit in front of him and grabbed his hands. "Look at me," he tells him,
"You, are not like him. Stop worrying about the bruise, it could've happened to anyone. We both know it was an accident. I know you would never hurt me or anyone else on purpose." He tells him. Cameron didn't look at him. Calvin puts his hand on his cheek.
"Cam, look at me. You're not like him. Alright?" He tells him. Cameron returns a weak smile and nods. "Come here," Calvin said and pulled him closer. They just sat in silence for a moment. "No more secrets anymore. Alright?" Calvin asked him. "Yeah," Cameron promised though he knew he would not be able to keep it.A/n: Sorry for the short chapter guys.
