"You ruined me okay!" I blurt, cutting him off as I fight back the angry tears that threaten to fall down my face, my fist clenched tightly at my sides. "I don't want to say it like that, really I don't, but you fucking did. You ruined me Eric, and I don't care how many times you apologize for it; I don't care how hard you're trying now. I can't and will never forgive you for what you've done."

"I'm... I love you, Adalaid." I can hear the defeat in his voice as he reaches for my hands but I jerk away. Watching in both irritation and hurt as his blue eyes close. He takes a step back out of respect. "I'm so sorry."

"I don't want your love or your apologies anymore Eric. I can't keep breaking myself for you, it isn't fair. To anyone, but especially not to Aiden." I frown, my hand trembling as I reach for the doorknob. "He needs me. And he needs you too. But I don't anymore Eric, I don't. And because of that, I'm rejecting you."
