The Sitio Hiyaw Pa Part 1

I held my traveling bag, I wore jeans and plain t-shirt paired with my black rubber shoes. I roamed my eyes through the bus station, lookinh annoyed.

"Let's go," I stood up clearly ignoring him. Masama pa rin ang loob ko, tanginang Shermaneous 'yan well I don't wanna cursed Zachy but damn! I felt betrayed! "Rude." Then he laughed, we went inside the bus. Hindi ko alam kung anong ginawa nito para magkatabi ang seats namin when in fact maraming pasahero ngayon.

Naupo ako sa may bintana, I drank bonamin before going to the bus. Hindi ako mahiluhin sa biyahe pero ngayong kasama si Xerxes baka masuka pa ako.

Pumasok na ang kondoktor kinuha ang mga ticket namin pagkuwana'y may pumasok sa bus na mga tindero. May nagbebenta ng chutcharon, inumin at iba pa. Hindi diretsong biyaheng Sitio Hiyaw Pa ang bus na sinasakyan namin. 

I stilled when I felt Xerxes rested his head on my shoulder. "Hoy." Tawag ko sakanya pero kitang-kita ko kung paano siya pumikit, kunwaring natutulog. "Hoy, alis. " Sabi ko, galing niya naman mag acting 'di pa nga nakaalis ang bus nakatulog na. I saw how he covered his hands on his mouth. My eyes widened, "shet." Na sabi ko nalamang ng marealize ang isang bagay. I quickly find my spare bonamin and a bottled water. "Inumin mo, pakshet 'wag mo akong sukahan!" I told him.

He weakly nodded, kinuha nito ang gamot sa akin. I assisted Xerxes on drinking bonamin. Pagkatapos niyang uminom ay napasandal ulit ito sa akin. He was clearly worn out, at bakas sa mukha nito ang panghihina. I'm not that heartless, so I let him sleep on my shoulder.

Marahan kong hinaplos ang noo nito pati ang kanyang buhok ng magsimula ng umandar ang sasakyan.  He has this bangs and I think he needs to do an haircut, masyado ng mahaba ang buhok niya.

I watched every place and things I see as the bus continues to move. Napangalumbaba ako sa may bintana ang isang kamay ay humahaplos sa buhok ni Xerxes na natutulog sa tabi ko at ang isang kamay ay nakalumbaba sa may pisngi. Hindi ako komportable sa nangyayari ngayon sa bus pero no choice, like what I've said I'm not that heartless.

It was a long ride when the bus stopped, siguro ay may biglang bababang pasahero. I looked at Xerxes, he was heavily breathing indicating he was sleeping well. Mas maganda na ito kaysa naman sukahan niya ako hindi ba, wala pa naman akong dalang plastic bag o cellophane.

"Miss pwedeng maki-upo?" Napa-angat ako ng tingin. The bus is three seated, napangiwi ako hindi alam kung tatango ba o iiling lalo na't sa lagay ng katabi ko. "Miss?" Anito at ngumisi, I was about to answer him when Xerxes talked.

"Mii, honey.." I glanced at Xerxes, para itong pusang nagsusumiksik sa leeg ko. I was astonished, did he just said 'Mi' and 'honey?' "Hmmm, kiss.." Anito.

I don't know if he did that on purpose but I cannot help myself to pinch his hard stomach. I laughed awkwardly at the man who's asking for the seat. "A-Ano... I-I'm sorry po, may kasama po.."I glanced at Xerxes who's now pouting like a child. "I'm sorry po, there's an vacant seat there po, I'm sorry I have an spacial child at my care." Napatango ang lalaki.

"Ah, sige sa ibang upuan nalang Miss. Banatayan mong mabuti baka mawala 'yang binabantayan mo lalo na't mukhang makulit at malikot 'yang bantay mo na special child." Anito, I smiled pagkuwana'y umalis na ito at naupo na sa kabila.

When the man left, I laughed really hard. What the fuck, special child! Napapahampas pa ako sa legs ko at naiiyak sa sobrang tawa.

"You're really beautiful when laughing." I stopped laughing on what he said. Nawala na ang pagkakasandal nito sa balikat ko at naka dekwatro ng nakasandal sa head rest ng kanyang upuan. He looked at me intently, "why did you stop laughing? I'm enjoying the view, bastos." Anito.

"Special child." I answered he stilled.

Pagkatapos nun ay natahimik na kaming parehas. Paminsan-minsa'y nag-uusap pero madalas ay tahimik lang. After the five hours of traveling we reached the bus station stop. Agad kong kinuha ang mga gamit ko at hinintay si Xerxes para sabay kaming bumaba sa bus.

I closed my eyes, I smelled the fresh air coming from the province I grew up with.

"We will ride tricycle to reach Sitio Hiyaw Pa," he instructed. I nodded. "Then tommorow we will start the investigation."

"Okay, kapag nakauwi na tayo sa Sitio Hiyaw Pa didiretso ako sa dating bahay namin ni Papa Ganda, then the day before tomorrow let just meet up for the investigation. " I don't want to make any matters to be worse. Xerxes smiled. Kinuha nito ang mga gamit ko at siya na mismo ang nagdala, I was about to protest but he said that was the payment for my assistance.

We walked through the tricycle's TODA. Sumakay si Xerxes sa backride at ako sa loob kasama ang mga gamit namin. Walang harang sa likod o tolda kaya malayang nililipad ng hangin ang buhok ko. I smiled, ah, how I miss this place.

The place that contains every memories I have with Papa Ganda. I closed my eyes, and extended my hands, the air that I was feeling. Para akong batang maliit na first time sumakay sa open tricycle. I giggled with that thought.

"Nandito na tayo," ani Xerxes. At kinuha ang mga gamit namin, ako na ang nagbayad kay Manong. Nagpasalamat ito bago umalis.

Now, we are here. Maraming nag-iba sa Sitio Hiyaw Pa, mas naging maganda ang lugar na 'to siguradong mas iningatan ng mga tao. I wonder kung narito pa ba ang mga chismosa na nakaaway ko dati?

   Ihiyaw mo lang!

Napailing ako, bago na ang pintura nito pero iyon pa rin ang nakasulat. Naalala ko noong unang tapak ko rito iyan din ang mga salitang bumungad sa akin. Ihiyaw mo pa.

"Are you happy?" Xerxes asked out of nowhere. He studied my face apprehensively and I sighed. "Well?"

The wind blew it was relaxing the clouds were clear blue and the sense of answering him and the humor I have didn't mix well. Just a few months and I will master the art of sarcasm because of him.

"You're rude. " I looked at him.

"No, " I said. "My name is Galatea Harmonia Hernandez, rude wasn't listed on my birth certificate." Then i continued walking leaving him behind.  Even though five years had passed, naalala ko pa rin bawat pasikot-sikot dito sa Sitio Hiyaw Pa.

"Damn, " I heard him say then he laughed. "That mouth of yours need some cleansing." Nangunot noo ako sa sinabi niya, I looked back at him. My hands were on my back. "Don't let me get near you and I will do some cleansing on your mouth, Honey.."

Those words send chills on my spine, the way he said those words.. He was really serious!

"Your sarcasm will lead the way for me to kiss you.. torridly and senseless." He added, I froze. "Welcome home, honey. " Then he smirked. “Won’t call you babe cause it's bringing me nightmares.”
