I slowly opened my eyes as the warm sun rays of the morning hit my face. The first thing I saw was his sleepy doe eyes that were fixed on me, causing me to shyly smile. He was lying beside me and held my hand.
'Good morning.' His raspy voice greeted me.
'You're so cute' was the first thing I blurted out.
He was suddenly wide awake and his fast movements woke me up too. He tossed himself around and was now towering over me, pinning me down onto my bed. His silver hair fell in his eyes and his plump lips were only a few inches away from mine. Only then I realized that we both had no clothes on, making me remember last night.
'Not so cute now, huh?' He said confidently of victory. Not at all.
'Seonghwa, stop teasing me.'
Not gonna let him win that easily. Just as he had let his guard down I freed myself and now I was the one towering above him, leaving him shocked.
'Okay, okay. You win, princess.' He said amused.
I giggled and let myself down again. I put my head on his bare chest, so I could hear Seonghwa's heartbeat. Drawing little circles on his upper body I thought about how long we have known each other.
We basically grew up together. My mom, the queen who had passed away when I was little, had hired his parents as our personal servants before we were born. Shortly after, he was born. Seonghwa was slightly older than me. His parents passed away due to an illness and not having enough money to pay for a doctor, so he was left alone here. My mom was very kind-hearted, she kind of took care of him after that. My dad, the king, hated him but didn't dare to fire him even after my mother had passed. Ever since Seonghwa was little he accompanied me everywhere. Well, it was his job after all, but over time we fell in love. We've been hiding it for years now.
'Your coronation is soon.' He broke the silence.
'I know.'
'We need to stop this here.'
'I know...'
We fell into a sad silence again.
'Let's run away.' I said determinedly.
'What?! No.'
'Why? We have nothing to lose.'
'Why? I might have nothing to lose, you're right about that. However, you're the throne heir. You have everything to lose. Your throne, your family, your life standard, everything.'
'All of this is worth nothing if I don't have you. Besides, you know that I don't want to be queen.'
Without saying anything further, Seonghwa quickly got up and put his clothes on.
'Wait some minutes and then come out of your room, so no one will suspect anything.' He said while leaving me alone.

In the evening I went down to the great dining hall where my father, brother Yeosang and I usually have dinner together. As I entered the room our servants bowed and Seonghwa pushed my chair back for me.
'Good evening, y/n.' My father greeted me.
'Evening, sister.' Yeosang said.
'Good evening.'
We never talked much during dinner and I was kind of glad about that. My dad knew that I didn't want to become queen and let's just say he wasn't quite happy about that. In my opinion, Yeosang would fit this role way better than me.
