The lost soul roamed, looking for creatures other than wild animals. He remembered a cave falling down from around him, and his friends Skeppy, Bad, George, SapNap, Tubbo, Tommy, Eret, the rest of them, and all their latchers, wanting to find them again.
He heard the crackling of burning wood nearby, unable to smell it though due to his ghostly form. Approaching the burning flame, he saw a mortal boy sitting by it, fish on a stick being cooked.
He latched himself quickly to the vessel, exploring the person's empty mindscape. Even though he was strong enough to do something with the vessel, the small group they had called the 'Chaos Crew' had taught him to be kinder.
Not much happened inside the vessel's mind while the lost soul regenerated his previous physical form other than sometimes going out at night in hopes he would be able to be seen again.
After he didn't know how long, the soul came out of the person's mind in the night in hopefully a completed form, poking the boy to wake them up, startling the boy awake.
Surprisingly, the boy wasn't scared. "Who are you?" they said instead. "What are you?"
"I'm Paralysis," he answered. "I'm a latcher. I needed to be in your mind so I could regenerate, but I'll be leaving now to find my friends somewhere in this world."
"Who are your friends?" the boy asked. "I've travelled a lot, I might know them!"
"They went by the name the 'Chaos Crew' and lived with other inhuman creatures bigger than me," Paralysis explained. "They were a fairly large group, around 20 members."
The boy's eyes widened. "I have seen them! I remember the names 'Skeppy' and 'Fundy' and 'Hivey'."
"That's them!" Paralysis exclaimed. "Thank you."
Paralysis started to walk away, detaching himself from the boy's mind, when the boy ran after him. "I want to come with you," the boy stated.
"Oh," Paralysis said. "I mean, I guess that'll be okay."
"I remember seeing someone named 'Dream' walking West, away from their camp," the boy said. "So they'd be East from where he was."
Paralysis jogged his brain, thinking. "Dream?" he mused.
"He seemed really sad when I saw him," the boy said. "Another one, who wore goggles, was telling him to eat. And another, who had a bandana, kept saying things like, 'He's never coming back,' and stuff.
"They all seemed really sad. And every time he was at the roots of a blossom tree of sorts."
Paralysis thought to his memories from before his death but couldn't remember a 'Dream' there. He recognized George and SapNap from the boy's descriptions, but 'Dream' didn't ring a bell.
Ignoring it, Paralysis started walking again, the boy at his heels. Using the sun as it rose, they figured out where the boy had seen 'Dream' at the blossom tree, and figured out where the Crew's camp was from there.
Paralysis heard voices from afar, very faint, but there. Familiar. "I hear them!" he said to the boy, running through the woods, dodging trees like nothing.
He bursted through the tree line, making a ruckus of excitement upon seeing them all, the Crew turning their heads and everything freezing in shock.
The latchers were the first ones to break the moment, Hivemind and Banshee going first and everyone else shuffling behind.
"Paralysis!" George started, the mortals coming behind.
He grinned and waved at them all, hugging the latchers who came close to him.
"I missed you guys," Paralysis stated. "And I brought along a friend!"
The boy walked out from behind him, waving shyly before being pulled into a hug by Tubbo, both around the same age.
"What's your name?" Tommy asked him.
"I'm AntFrost," he responded. "Ant for short."
George looked concerned, almost, looking at Paralysis.
"You okay George?" SapNap asked. "You look conflicted or something."
"Paralysis," George said, catching his attention. "Dream."
"Dream?" Paralysis replied, confused. "What about it?"
"Dreeamm?" SapNap said slowly, catching on. "Your boyfriennd?"
"I had a boyfriend?" Paralysis questioned, the rest looking at him in worry.
"Do you not remember Dream?" SapNap asked.
"Who's Dream?" Paralysis asked again.
"George, go get Dream," SapNap said to George, George not hesitating before sprinting off in the direction of the blossom tree.
George ran through the woods West to where Dream stayed almost 24 hours a day, barely eating, nor sleeping or drinking.
"Dream!" George exclaimed, breaking through the trees to see Dream in his usual kneeled position, unresponsive to anything around him. "Dream."
George kneeled beside him, hesitating before placing a hand on Dream's shoulder. "He's back."
A shiver seemed to go through Dream, his head shooting up and looking at George in shock, knowing exactly who George meant. "He's... he's alive? He's back?"
George nodded slowly, tears building in his eyes in happiness and worry of Dream seeing Paralysis again, but also that Paralysis seems to not remember him.
Dream had so much energy to get back, George couldn't keep up.
"Paralysis!" Dream shouted, bursting into the site looking frantically for his love. Paralysis looked up from where he was sitting, talking with some of the latchers of the Crew.
Dream spotted him, running across the ground with shocking speed, and almost flying in Paralysis' arms, wrapping his around Paralysis' shoulders tightly and crying into his clothing.
Paralysis patted Dream's back softly, confusion written on his face. "I'm sorry, who are you?" Paralysis asked, pulling Dream slightly off his chest.
Dream looked at him, hurt. "What do you mean? I'm Dream. Your boyfriend. Almost husband. I have the ring. The sword you gave me," Dream whispered, showing Paralysis the ring on his finger.
Paralysis set Dream on the ground, off his lap. "I'm sorry... I don't know who you are."
Dream's eyes reddened and tears felt softly again, despair filling his mind and heart as Paralysis looked at him in pity before walking away.
Everyone stared between Paralysis and Dream as Paralysis walked to their, his, house, walking into the house, leaving Dream in the dirt.
"He doesn't remember me..." Dream whispered through tears, George and SapNap comforting him with tight hugs. "It's as if I was never there in his life..."
"Maybe something will happen, someday," George whispered, Dream crying into his shoulder.
