Chapter 49 - Red Planet

Ryder and I hadn't stopped dancing for one second - we sung along with the songs the rest of the club had performed, and we bounced around and spun aimlessly whilst holding hands. 

I couldn't help but notice that a lot of the time Ryder wasn't exactly here. "Are you okay?" I shouted at him, over the music, still bouncing. 

"Oh, yeah!" Ryder shook his head, as if to bring himself back into reality. "I was just thinking."

When Jake finished his version of a One Direction song, Tina rushed up to me. "Hey, we're going to sing our duet now!" I told Ryder I would be right back, and rushed to the stage where Tina was standing. "Are you ready?"

I looked at the excited audience. "Ready!"

Tina and I walked up the steps and to the microphones. The band played the minute we turned on the microphone. As the intro began, I noticed Tina's eyes were stuck on a boy standing in the corner of the room, sipping some punch and looking bored. I shared a glance with Tina, and she smiled and shrugged, that look of lust in her eyes. 

Tina and Marley:

I heard a chorus of gasps from the audience, and some of the student body started singing along. 

Tina:
I-I-I-I-I thought my love was bittersweet
Broken into pieces but now back on my feet

Marley:

Tina and Marley:

Tina:
And I like to explore things

Marley:

From the corner of my eye, I saw Tina doing all of these sultry dance moves, all while staring at the boy in the corner of the room. He seemed disinterested, but she gave him a flirty smile before singing her next lines.

Marley and Tina:

Marley:
