K.C.: Hello, dear readers! *smiles sincerely*Thank you for picking out this book!
Pip: K.C., I'm not sure we should do this *scratches his neck*
Freddy: Come on, Pipster! *wraps a wing around his best buddy* I'm sure doing these dares would be fun-e...
K.C.: *eyes widen as another notification pops up on the Fly Pad* Guys! We have another question! *waves them over*
Pip: *looks up from reading on his Fly Pad* Who is it for?
K.C.: *smiles* It's actually for the two of you! *bites her lip as she looks at the Fly Pad again* I guess it's going to be a long while before I get a question considering the hiatus
Freddy: *looks up from playing with the babies, spelling "stop global warming, and we literally know the exact people responsible for it"* Who is it from? *stands up and walks over to the koala, excited to answer a new question*
K.C.: *eyes widen as she checks the Fly Pad again* It's from @Amanda737055 *hands over the Fly Pad to the flamingo*
Freddy: *takes the Fly Pad with a wide smile, feeling giddy* It says... *starts reading* Does Pip and Freddy like Christmas lights? *tilts his head* Isn't this question outdated by a month?
Pip: Well— We always do answer questions quite later because life's getting busy *shrugs*
K.C.: *snickers* I wanna overanalyse one grammar bit from that question so much
Pip: *sets down his Fly Pad as he stands up to join Freddy* Well... *looks at the koala with a tight grin, quite scared of what she was thinking* How about later?
K.C.: Alright... *creepy grin*
Freddy: Well I really enjoy Christmas lights! *beams* I think we all know that I really like lights of all sorts! *smiles with a sparkle in his eyes* They're really pretty! Especially the ones that just stay still and get the lighting right to make the atmosphere magical!
Pip: I don't really like lights too much *shakes his head* Well— Admiring them from afar is perfect for me, but once we go up close, most times things get a little too bright *winces a little bit* And those flashy Christmas lights? Not a major fan of them...
Freddy: I don't think I like those flashy Christmas lights neither *shakes his head* My favourite ones are just the ones that enhances everything and making everything look winter-y and Christmas-y *tilts his head with a dreamy smile* Though fireplaces are awesome sources of light if you get it right!
K.C.: *pipes up with a pout* You guys are forgetting that Christmas lights would require electricity, and unless that electricity is from a renewable source, we're stripping away our resources and/or creating pollution in the process
Freddy: *beak opens just a little bit* Ohhh...
K.C.: So— *clears her throat as she changes the subject* In the question, the verb used is "does" signalling we're referring to a single subject. The subject is "Pip and Freddy." A singular verb can work for a compound subject if the two subjects can be grouped together and can be considered as one entity, so this would mean "Pip and Freddy" is one entity... maybe a shi—
Pip: *slaps his wing on the koala's mouth* And we're stopping there, thank you very much
