Meant to be?

I'm leaving town
And if you really
Cared
As much as you said you do
You would
Meet me at the airport
And tell me
It was a mistake
The biggest one you've made
That you still
Love me
And can't live without me
And just
Maybe
I'll let you try again
That's when I hear my name
Called out by
A familiar voice
I turned around
To see you
And you said "I love you"
And that letting me go
You couldn't handle
But if I did leave
It was okay
Because he
Was confessing
That he made a mistake
And it was the worst
Mistake he's ever made
To let me go
Some say
"If you love someone
Let them go
And if they return
It was meant to be"
But he didn't
Want me to go
Because he didn't want
To be alone
Until I came back
To him
But he doesn't know
That I
Was the one
Who let him go
And he came back
To me
So I
Guess we are
Meant to be
