Little heart locket

There's a little
Heart locket
That I wear everyday
Around my neck
Sometimes I just stare
At the shiny silver
Heart
With the engraved
Rose on the front
Of that old locket
That holds something
Dear to me
And if this locket
Were to break
I would die
So I hold that locket close
To my heart at
All times
Then one day
I was hurting
And I look down
To see my locket
And there was a crack
In the side of the locket
It was broken
The little heart locket
That I've had for years
Has broken
So now I'm dying
Because that
Little heart locket
Had a picture
Of my husband
Who died in battle
Back in 77
And my baby girl
Who wanted to see
Her Daddy
So she went to heaven
I know I shouldn't cry
Cause I knew eventually
I'd go myself
But I thought
I would go with my
Little heart locket
