"Hey guys." I said rather reluctantly. This was really bad timing.

Stepping out of my apartment, I shut the door behind me and got a weird look from Caleb.

"What are you hiding?"

"Why do you look like shit?"

Both Jacob and Ani asked simultaneously. The latter was asked by Ani; I decided to answer that and deflect Jacob's question.

"Wow, thanks Ani. I put in a lot of effort into looking like this." I said wryly.

Her face dropped at my sarcastic response and she mumbled under her breath in disbelief, "Seriously?"

She was nudged in the arm by Jacob who shushed her.

"Did we have something planned today?" I asked, ignoring her gullibility.

I knew they wouldn't be happy with the fact that Christian was inside and I was not ready for that encounter just yet.

"No, but we were wondering if you wanted to come with us to the Ben's for breakfast." Caleb said.

"Um... I'm a little busy. Raincheck?"

I hated lying to them, but else could I do?

"Busy with Greyson, huh?" Ani questioned, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

Hearing his name sent a shot of pain straight to my chest and made me want to crumble, but I fought hard to keep a smile on my face.

The pain from his betrayal was still raw, and it would take time for me to get over it.  If I could even get over it.

"Yeah, yeah. With G-Greyson." I forced the lie out of my mouth.

Of course, at that very moment, Christian decided to join our little pow-wow in the hallway. He looked surprised to see the little gathering.

Caleb's face was devoid of any emotion while Jacob was sporting a glare. Sensing the palpable tension, Ani stepped behind Caleb with shock on her face.

I contemplated screaming out all my frustrations or just leaving this situation and dealing with it when I had the energy, but of course I couldn't do either.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Jacob was the one to break the silence.

A door opening brought all of us out of our little world. A neighbor stepped out and froze when she saw us, a startled expression on her face.

I'm sure we were a sight to see. Jacob stood alarmingly close to Christian, in hopes of intimidating him with Caleb flanking him. Ani had pressed herself against the wall, confused as to what was happening while I looked like a mess.

"Everyone, inside. Now." I said firmly.

Giving the poor woman a smile, I shuffled inside and closed the door behind me.

"Lizzy, care to explain."

"Calm down, Jacob. I've decided to hear him ou—"

"But he—"

"No buts. This is my decision and you have to respect it."

Sooner or later, he would have to so I'd rather it be now.

I could feel the shock radiating off Christian, but that was the least of my problems now. I kept my eyes on Jacob challenging him to try and fight me on this.

He relented and broke off the staring contest, storming off to my bedroom. He slammed the door behind him like a child throwing a tantrum which was exactly what he was doing right now.
