greyson's pov

I fucked up, I fucked up real bad.

I don't blame her when she said she never wanted to see me again, hell even I couldn't look at myself without feeling disgusted.

But that didn't stop my heart from cracking into two. There was absolutely no way she would forgive me, but I wasn't looking for forgiveness because I know I didn't deserve it.

I just needed her to know that everything I feel for her is real. She needed to know that I love her.

I was a selfish fucker for thinking that everything I was doing, it was for her protection. Now I see that I was wrong, so fucking wrong.

Tobias was a ruthless motherfucker who would get what he wanted, fuck the consequences. I knew he was suspicious of the way I was handling everything and I couldn't add onto that suspicion by deciding to drop the job.

If he found what she meant to me, he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted in the cruelest ways.

I didn't care what he would do to me, my main concern was Eli. I didn't want her to get hurt in any way.

What was I going to do? I was fucking stumped.

I decided she needed to know the entire truth and then I would accept whatever she wanted afterwards.

My nerves were threatening to explode as I drove down to her apartment. I knew she didn't want to see me.

Damn it, maybe I should just give her some space.

No, I needed her to know everything, that is if she was willing to hear me out, and then I would leave her alone.

Getting out of the car, I jogged to her apartment complex and hurried up the stairs, the jitters getting worse with every step as I contemplated if this was a good idea or not.

Reaching her floor, I walked to her apartment coming to a slow halt. Her key was still in the door, which was slightly ajar.

Eli was clumsy, but she wasn't this careless. My instincts kicked in as I cautiously walked towards the door and pushed it open.

Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary as I looked around the apartment, which was even more concerning. Maybe I was just overreacting, and this was another case of her extreme clumsiness.

I pulled out my phone and called her, but she wasn't picking up. Next, I called Caleb.

"What's up?" His voice sounded through the phone.

"I just wanted to know if Eli was with you." I asked, keeping my voice even and trying not to betray any emotions.

"Nah, we dropped her off at her apartment after breakfast. Is everything alright?"

"Everything's dandy. I've got to go." I said, cutting the call without waiting for a response.

Sitting down on her bed, I ran my hands through my hair, gripping the strands tightly. The worry and fear in my chest increasing with every passing second. This girl was going to be the death of me. Where the fuck is she?

Having no other option, I decided to go to the only other person I knew who would have any idea where she could be. Pulling up to his office, the receptionist seemed busy with someone so I used that to my advantage and snuck in.

I quietly slipped inside a closing elevator, there was another guy dressed in a suit and seemed young to be working here. He looked at me suspiciously, but didn't question me.

"Where does Christian White work?" I asked him.

"Do you have an appointment with him?"

"Yeah, I do. I forgot the floor; you know bad memory." I joked miserably.

He looked reluctant to tell me, but eventually did after I stared him down. He worked on the last floor.

The guy got off on the next floor and I was alone in the elevator. The ride up to the last floor seemed much longer than it actually was. The elevator dinged, finally, and the doors opened. There was a soft glow of light coming from one of the rooms.

Knocking on the door, I pushed it open to be met with Christian's surprised face. He quickly got into a defensive mode.

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

"It's Eli. I think she's missing." I said straight out.

"What the fuck are you talking about? I just saw her this morning."

"I just went to her apartment, and she wasn't there. Her door was opened with the key in the keyhole, and everything in the apartment was fine."

"She could be with those friends of her's."

"You don't think I thought of that?" I spat. "I checked, she isn't with them."

"You're overreacting, maybe she just went out for a walk or something."

"Maybe, you didn't hear me. Her door was opened with her key in it and she isn't picking up her phone."

He walked over to his desk and picked up his phone. Speaking into it quietly for a few minutes, he cut the call and turned to me.

"I've asked for the security footage from her apartment complex." He said gruffly.

A few minutes later, his computer dinged and I walked over to see the footage. Everything seemed fine until she got to her door, but something or someone rather, crept behind her quietly.

She appeared to be lost in her thoughts, and didn't seem to notice the figure behind her before it was too late.

From the build, it seemed like a man. He knocked her out by hitting her on the back of her head and proceeded to drag her out of the camera's view. The screen went black after that.

"It has to be him." It couldn't be anyone else, not even Tobias.

"I thought he was dead." Christian said with disbelief as he stared at the blank screen.

"We have to find her."

"I know someone who might have information." He said as if it was the last person he wanted to see.

"Who?"

"Tobias."

"For fuck's sake."
