The laughter and talking came to a gradual halt as I stood there, looking at him like a ghost.

What didn't he understand from when I said I never wanted to see him again? Different emotions were surfacing inside me, mostly pain and anger as I stared at him.

Jacob decided to point out the obvious, "It's Greyson. Aren't you happy to see him?" He said looking between the both of us. "Are the two of you having a lover's spat or something?" He questioned us awkwardly.

I ignored Jacob and kept my attention on him. He was sitting on the couch acting like nothing happened yesterday. To a normal person, he looked like he was doing just fine. But his eyes told me everything, I could see the anguish and regret in them.

"Elizabeth, are you fine?" It was Ani who broke me out of my stupor.

"Um... y-yeah." I stuttered. "I'll just grab my phone, and we can head out." Saying that, I rushed out of there, away from him and everything he made me feel.

Closing the door behind me, I let out a shaky breath as I sat down on my bed needing a few minutes to pull myself together.

I wasn't ready to tell the twin's anything yet, it was not like I had a chance to fucking recover from everything that was dumped on me and I needed time. But I don't know how long I could act like everything was fine.

A soft click sounded from the door and Ani's head popped in.

"Elizabeth, is everything okay?" She said as she came in and sat down besides me. "I know something's wrong, and it has something to do with that boy. You can tell me."

"Ani, you remember when I told you that Greyson was supposed to take me on that date?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, he took me on a date, but..."

"But what?" She jerked up from the bed, surprising me with the sudden movement. "Did he hurt you? Cause if he did, he can expect a good thrashing from me."

I chuckled softly and took ahold of Ani's wrist and pulled her to sit back on the bed.

"No, it was amazing. I don't even have words to describe that night. It was probably the best day of my life; we connected and I think might l—" I swallowed. "I think I love him."

Admitting it out loud was relieving, of sorts.

I sighed, "It's just after that everything got so... fucked up."

"What happened?" She asked me gently.

"I'm not sure if I want to talk about it just yet." I said feebly.

"And that's all I need. I'm going to pound him in the face now." She shoved up her sleeves to her elbows and stood up.

"As much as I appreciate you doing that for me, it's just going to create unnecessary drama and I do not have the energy to deal with that. Caleb and Jacob don't know yet."

After contemplating it for a few minutes, she finally gave in on one condition, "You better tell them soon though. My hands are itching for action, but I can settle for glares."

The girl couldn't hurt a fly and here she was ready to throw punches for me. I gave her small smile, and she pulled me in for a hug.

Before we could leave, I asked her, "Ani, what's going between you and Caleb?"

"Nothing is going o-on between Caleb and I." She knew that I knew; it was pretty fucking evident. And the blush on her face was enough of an answer.

"Uh-huh, if you say so. You'll tell me sooner or later." I said with conviction.

"Come on, let's go. They're probably waiting out there." She said hurriedly and rushed out.

I laughed at her retreat before following her. I reached the living room to see the twin's laughing away while Greyson was on his phone. His eyes quickly met mine when he heard us enter, but I averted my gaze to Jacob who spoke.

"I figured the both of you were making the food in there for us." Jacob said sarcastically. He really thought he was funny, poor boy.

"Shut the fuck up." Caleb and I answered monotonously.

"Haha, very funny." Ani said, sending him a death glare.

"Can we go now?" Caleb said interrupting the staring contest between Ani and Jacob.

"You'll can go ahead. I just need to talk to Greyson, and I'll be down in a few."

"Great, more waiting." Jacob muttered under his breath as he walked out of the apartment followed by his twin. Ani nodded in my direction, shooting Greyson a glare before leaving.

I waited for him to say to something, but he remained silent.

"What are you doing here?" I said, breaking the silence.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know they were going to be here. I came over to apologize."

"You don't get it, do you? There's nothing there for you to apologize, everything was a lie. You swooped into my life, used my feelings for you and got everything you wanted. You completed the job, so what more do you want from me? If you've come to rub it in my face, you don't need to. I already know I'm a fucking idiot."

"No, you're not an idiot. Just please give me a chance; I know I fucked up and I'm sorry." He said desperately.

"You really have the fucking nerve to ask me to give you a chance." I scoffed. "You're demented."

He dropped to his knees in front in me and looked at me with red, watery eyes. "Tell me what I can do to make it right, please. I can't lose you."

Deep down, I hated him seeing him in pain, and I hated myself for feeling like that.

"You can do nothing; it's over Greyson." I said, keeping my face blank. "Just leave."

He got up, tears were streaming down his face. "I'm sorry, but I can't give you up so easily."

He looked at me one last time before leaving me standing there, all alone with a broken heart and a million thoughts.

Sitting down on the couch, I contemplated whether I had the energy to go with the three of them or not.

Fuck it, they had waited for me, and I didn't want to leave them hanging.

Seeing me, Jacob exclaimed loudly, "Finally! I thought the both of you were never going to show up." His face morphed into confusion when he saw that Greyson that wasn't with me, "Wait, where's Greyson? Don't tell me we have to wait anymore longer." He whined like a small child.

"Oh yeah, Greyson's not coming. Something came up and he had to go." The lie left my mouth smoothly.

Jacob seemed satisfied with my answer while Caleb had quizzical look on face, but he didn't question me. Ani just gave me a small, sad smile, asking me quietly if I was fine, I just shrugged in response.

I was glad I decided to have breakfast with them; it made me feel better, and it took my mind off things. The back and forth bantering between Ani and Jacob was very amusing, but what was even better to see was Caleb and Ani sneaking glances at each other when they thought no one was looking.

It was quite adorable to see. Jacob was, of course, oblivious to what was happening around him.

The twin's and Ani dropped me to my apartment, since it was the closest to the diner, with plans to go to the movies later.

As I was walking up to my apartment, my mind went back to what Christian said. It didn't matter who he was to me, there was no way I was going to meet the man that was supposed to be my father. He was a just money hungry bastard who didn't care about anybody, but himself. I wasn't going to bring another twat into my life.

I pushed my key into the keyhole mindlessly, unaware that someone was standing behind me until it was too late. Something hit me on the back of my head, and I stumbled forward losing consciousness.

That was definitely going to hurt, was my last thought before everything black.
