greyson's pov

My vision was once again obscured when the cloth was roughly shoved over my head and this time my hands were tied as well, in case either of us decided to get jumpy.

We were frisked for any sort of weapons before being blindly lead or better yet pushed towards where I assumed Thorn would be waiting.

We had been walking for quite sometime before we were brought to a sudden halt, I heard the sound of a door opening and we were pushed in.

"Sit tight for a little while; we'll be back. No funny business or I'll have your heads on a platter." He said excitedly as if he wanted us to do exactly that.

Sick fuck.

The door closed with a bang and we heard footsteps fading away.

"What the fuck is wrong with these people?" Caleb said in disbelief.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg. Are your hands tied?" I questioned.

"Yeah. Tight enough to stop my blood circulation. What the fuck are we going to do now?"

"We wait." I answered.

Shortly afterwards, we heard footsteps approaching and coming to stop outside the door. The door opened and light streamed in through the crack, we were once again shoved out the door and were made to walk.

Not long after, we finally stopped, someone cut the rope off our hands and we were pushed down onto our knees. The black bag shrouding my vision was pulled off.

The bright light in the room made it difficult for me to see my surroundings. It took me a good minute to adjust to the light before I was able to see everything properly around me.

The room was spacious, but it seemed like it hadn't been used in years with the amount of dust and cobwebs that coated the room. We faced a glass panel with bright sunlight shining down on us. We were flanked by men on both sides.

Various exit strategies running through my head in case things went wrong and we needed to make a quick escape.

"Greyson Blaise." His authoritative voice snapped me out of my thoughts. The voice came from behind me.

"You certainly have some nerve showing your face around here after what you've pulled, boy." He said, standing in front of me.

He hadn't changed, the salt and pepper hair and his burly frame gave off that dominating aura that would make anyone want to submit. His emotionless, cold eyes held sinister secrets that was now creased with stress lines, no doubt resulting from all the 'effort' that takes with running a cartel.

He was a ruthless and cruel man which were important qualities that were necessary for a life like this. While Tobias was the one that got me off the street, Thorn was the one that made me strong, as fucked up as it sounded, he saw himself in me and wanted me to be the best.

I was naive and like a fool I believed him. He trained me to vicious and inhuman and made sure I never hesitated to follow the orders I was given. The times I hesitated caused danger to my own life. There were consequences for not following orders because of which some didn't make it out alive. We were trained to be machines, to follow orders without a second thought for our own lives and the others around us.

I was broken and then molded into what he wanted me to be. It was drilled into my head that I was a scum of the earth and that's what I would be. I was nothing, but a waste of space.

I believed it until I met Eli.

"I need information."

He laughed humorlessly at my demand. "Boy, you're lucky I didn't have your brains blown out the minute you stepped into my territory."

"Elias Park, do you know him?" There was no reaction to that name.

"Who's your friend?" He asked me ignoring my question, glancing at Caleb before looking at me again.

"Elias Park?" I grit out once more, not in the mood for his games.

He simply raised his eyebrows at me before walking around me. Not even a second later a gun was pressed to the back of my head.

"Watch your fucking tone, or I'll kill you and relish in it while doing so." He said in a callous tone. "You want to repeat what you just said?" He taunted me.

"Do you know who the fuck Elias Park is?" I spat out, not caring anymore.

In that split second before I heard the click of the trigger, I could feel the pumping of my heart in my ears and then Eli's face flashing in front of me, a beautiful smile on her face that made her look ethereal.

The sound of the gun going off deafened the room. I waited for the pain to come, but nothing happened. I opened my eyes to the sound of the gun being thrown in front of me.

"Would you look at that? The gun wasn't loaded." He laughed, like the fucking maniac he was. "And because of your desperation, I'll answer your question. But you know the deal."

I was waiting for this. Of course the fucking bastard would want something in return. "What the fuck do you want?"

"As much as I want you dead, you're better off alive, working for me again."

"Greyson, no..." Caleb uttered.

"You have something to say?" His attention was now on Caleb.

"Fuck you." Caleb said spitefully.

Thorn struck him with the hilt of a gun making him fall over, his eyes glazed with anger. Caleb managed to get back in a sitting position on his knees and spat out blood on the floor and glared up at him. Before Thorn could do anything more, I spoke up.

"I will." I said without hesitation and fleetingly glanced at Caleb who was bleeding from the impact before setting my attention on Thorn. "I will work for you. Now tell me about Elias Park."

He smirked at my frantic agreement. "He's nothing, but a lowlife druggie who frequently buys from us."

"Where does the exchange happen?" I asked.

He nodded to one of his men that were lurking around in the shadows, whispering quietly in his ear, the man walked off.

"You'll get your answer. Why the sudden interest in him?"

"He owes someone money, and I'm returning a favor." The lie slipping off my tongue easily.

He looked like he was going to say something, but was cut off by a phone ringing. The man on the phone scribbled something on a piece of paper and handed it to him.

He flung the piece of paper on the ground in front me. I picked it up and held it tight, this was the only clue to finding Eli at the moment.

"Remember the deal, boy. Otherwise, everyone you know will die while you watch, starting with him." He said, gesturing towards Caleb.

I didn't have a chance to say anything before the black cloth covered my face once again. I was forced to stand up and we were pushed to walk back from where we came.
