“Good mor-ning, Leader Lily!”

Maybe Yusha likes how easy Leader Lily is to say, that’s why she called me that as she ran up.

“Why are you calling me that?” I asked. “Do you like it that much?”

“Mhmm!” Yusha said. “It’s strangely fun to say!”

“This time it’s fine, but don’t call me that again,” I said.

“Aww…” Yusha said.

Ugh… I can’t do it. She’s too cute and I want to make her smile. I can’t help it.

We went to school while having the usual conversation. Today is outdoor group tactics training. It seems that more than half of the Hero Academy’s facilities are training fields… and we’re now at the low-level monster ranch, where they raise creatures for the students to gain experience.

“We’ll be way better from now on!” Yusha said. “Isn’t that right, Lily?”

“You’re putting so much faith in me,” I said.

“Of course I am!” Yusha said. “You’re a reliable leader, after all~!”

… She gives me such a serious smile and I become a mess. I don’t know what this feeling us but I’ll pat Yusha’s head.

“Hu-huh?!” Yusha gasps. “What did I do?”

“It’s nothing,” I said.

Haah. Healing time is over, now we’ve got to go to class. From this day forth, I have to do my best!

I continue walking with Yusha for a while until Shilde and Hira come in late, as usual.

“Good morning, Shilde, Hira!” Yusha hums.

“Oh, morning,” Shilde says.

“G-Good morning!” Hira says.

“Good morning, you two,” I said. “Shilde, now that I’m the leader, you’re going to take our lectures seriously, alright?”

“Aww… seriously?” Shilde asked.

Are you kidding me?! Is this a joke?! If she doesn’t learn group tactics in the classroom, she’ll end up charging into battle even though she’s our tank, just like yesterday!

But, yelling at Shilde like that is the wrong way to go about it, so I’ll have to put it to her gently…

“If you don’t pay attention in class, you won’t know what tactics to use, right?” I say.

“I’m not the type to memorize things…” Shilde muttered.

“Don’t give me that!” I snapped. “Open your notebook for once!”

“I don’t have a notebook..” Shilde says.

“Why not?!” I yell.

On the sides, Yusha and Hira giggle.

“… Is something the matter?” I hiss at them.

“No, nothing, at all!” Hira says. “It’s just…”

“I’m glad that you’re the leader, Lily!” Yusha said.

“Well you all nominated me for the role, didn’t you?!” I groaned.

Isn’t it bad for a leader to say that…? I think so.

“Anyway!” I said. “Shilde, you’re forbidden from sleeping during class! I’ll lend her my loose-leaf notebook today!”

Shilde groans. “Just looking at it gives me a headache.”

She really hates taking her academics seriously… I have to do something about this ASAP.

“Alright, it’s time for the lecture to begin!” the teacher said.

And now it’s time for the lecture. Don’t fail me now, Shilde…!

“Zzz…”

“Don’t sleep!” I hiss at Shilde. Even though the lecture has barely started, she’s asleep in an instant…

From there, I found myself in hell. I had to keep poking Shilde awake while she was falling asleep every 15 seconds. This is going to drive me crazy…

Shilde keeps sleeping at her desk until we get a break. What the? It’s time already…?

For now, I decided to give up and investigate this further at lunch.

“Why are you always so sleepy?” I asked. “Are you getting enough sleep at night?”

“I don’t sleep at night,” Shilde said. “I’m busy playing games.”

“So you’re a gamer…” I mutter. “What are you playing, the Legends of the Heroes?”

“Yep!” Shilde said. “It’s my 40th 100% clear!”

“… Go to sleep,” I said.

“What was that?”

“At night! Go to sleep!” I yell. “Do it…!”

Hira squeals as I start shouting. She plays games all night then sleeps during class? Can you forgive such a thing?!

“Li-Lily!” Hira stammers. “You look scary…”

“No! It’s fine!” Yusha says. “Even if she spends her nights as she likes!”

“It’s not fine!” I yell. “It’s going to be a pain for everyone else!”

“What do you mean?!”

“What’s going on?!”

I will not let anyone fall behind. I can’t surrender now. Because… I’m the leader.
