“Li-Lily,” Shilde said. “I’ve put the games away to attend the lectures properly from now on.”

I had just arrived at school that morning and found Shilde was already there. More importantly, it seems she has done as she says looks awake.

“Well, isn’t that great?” I said. “Thank you, Shilde, I’m glad you’re thinking of the party.

“Uh, yeah,” Shilde stammers. “It’s for the party and not because of you, alright?”

“Uh, okay,” I said.

There must have been some kind of misunderstanding. And why is Shilde’s face so red?

“But that is great, Shilde!” I said. “You came to school with playing games the night before.”

“Well, actually… I played until it was like 1 AM,” Shilde replied.

… Well, isn’t that great news?

“What’s with that look?!” Shilde snaps. “I wanted to finish a level but it took so long, it was already 1 AM when I did?”

Well… I suppose that’s a huge improvement compared to yesterday when she stayed up all night and slept in the classroom. Let’s just give her praise.

“Yes… that’s good of you, Shilde,” I said. “But don’t forget to get some sleep, alright?”

“Yeah, yeah… I already got it, you know?” Shilde said.

I’m still a little concerned but it’s not good to be too suspicious as she’s headed in the right direction. Let’s just keep an eye on her.

“Alright, time for class, everyone!”

The teacher’s here! And Shilde… good, she’s not sleeping right away. Though I wonder if Shilde noticed that I was staring intensely at her…

“I’m skeptical… but it’s all good,” I whispered.

The lecture goes on despite my mixed feelings of relief and worry. Today’s lesson is about the duties and importance of the Tank in a party and group tactics involving them. It’s practically tailored for Shilde, so she has to pay attention to it.

I glanced at my side, she’d brought a notebook this time. A great improvement…

Of the four hours of lectures in the morning, Shilde gets sleepy at the 20-minute mark. That’s a big step up… she’s already evolving into a proper student, isn’t she?

“You’re amazing, you know that, Shilde?” I said to her over lunch.

“Okay, alright… this is embarrassing,” Shilde says.

Maybe because she wasn’t used to being complimented, Shilde blushes and turns her face down. Even though she’s got plenty of rough edges, she’s still cute.

Shilde devours her lunch to hide her embarrassment. I wonder if this training makes her feel uncomfortable…?

“Alright, it’s almost time for our revenge match!” Lily said.

“Yeah!” Shilde cheers. “We’re gonna win today for sure.”

“I wonder if I can fight properly this time…” Hira says.

“It’ll be fine, Hira,” I said. “Leave it to me.”

Yusha’s on fire, Shilde’s got our victory on her mind, Hira is uneasy, and I… will have to bring these three together.

The bell rings.

“Oh! That was the pre-match ring!” Yusha said.

“If we don’t hurry, the teachers will do us in before the auxiliary party!” Shilde says.

“Huh?!” Hira squeals. “W-We have to hurry…”

“We have to go now or we’ll be late!” I said.

Ah… this isn’t looking good.

We devour our lunches and run to the training room. And it’s already started!

“You four are late!” the teacher says. “I wonder if you can go first as punishment.”

Wah… no doubt, we’re going up first. There are already three members of the auxiliary party that are in formation.

“Well then, it seems you’ve improved since yesterday, shall see how much, young ladies?” their leader asks.

“Thank you,” I say. “But… if aren’t careful, you might get hurt?”

They look surprised at the comeback, probably because they beat us black and blue two days ago.

“Well then…” the teacher said, “begin!”

The match starts! Today… we’ll show you what we’re made of!
