HE WAS WATCHING his face in the mirror even more tired. Draco had not slept again that night and although for him that was a success, his face looked worse every day.  He turned on the tap, letting the water run for a few seconds before starting off.  After that, he soaked his hands and took some water in them to wet his face, cooling himself.

He gasped from the cold water and looked back at himself in the mirror.  He was still the same, his appearance had not improved at all. Draco shut off the water tap and with a towel dried his face. Then, took the hair shaver and scissors out of the bathroom drawer.  His hair was long, unkempt, though it didn't matter much to him either, he had no one to impress, he had nothing left, and Daphne didn't mind.

After a mental battle trying to decide whether to cut his hair or not, he ended up sending a message to Mittie. He waited and waited, impatiently for her to arrive and, as always, having another coffee.

Within half an hour, the doorbell rang and Draco quickly went to open the door.

"Oh my gosh, you look really bad, Malfoy." She said entering the house while making a face.  Mittie was already dressed for the occasion "I'm still mad at you. You've ignored me for two days, you had us all worried. Daphne called me desperate because she tried to come and you wouldn't open the door for her." She was frowning, bringing her hands to her waist.

"I'm sorry, okay?"  He said raising his voice as well as his hands, which scared Mittie a bit.  Draco sighed, calming down "Let's get this over with, please."

She watched him for a few seconds without saying anything, biting her cheek from inside her mouth "Okay." Finally said "What do you need?"

Draco just motioned his hands towards his hair, making her understand what he wanted as he made a small face, twisting the corner of his mouth.

She sighed with some relief and a barely visible small smile "About time,  come on."  She said moving closer to him and wrapped her arm around his shoulders. They both headed to the bathroom where she would cut Draco's hair.

Mittie set up a chair, a towel, a pair of scissors and quickly started off.  There was a lot of hair to cut.  Draco watched through the mirror attentively what she was doing.

"I know you've read my messages,  but..." she began as she combed Draco's hair, took strands of hair between her fingers and cut his friend's blond hair with the scissors "I'm really sorry Draco, really. He wasn't the best man in the world, but nobody wants to lose a father. "

He, hearing those words, swallowed, feeling that lump in his throat once more.  He didn't say anything, just watched Mittie through the mirror trying to keep his cool so he wouldn't collapse again.

For him, she was someone important.  Mittie helped Draco a lot during these five years and they had created a very deep friendship since the two of them had lost the most important person in their lives;  Annelisse.

There was not a day that neither of them did not remember her.  Annelisse was present even after five years and that is what had brought Draco and Mittie together, their love for her.

"I still miss her too, Draco—"  She said when she saw his face in the mirror, knowing perfectly that he was thinking about her again. Draco looked up,  watching her through the mirror.  They hadn't talked much about her lately,  they avoided doing it because it didn't make any of them feel good to remember her. "—and even though I'm angry with her and only God knows where she is, I still love her."  She sighed.

Mittie continued to cut more hair, thus finally clearing, after several months, Draco's hair and leaving it something more pleasant to look at, not so unkempt. Moments later, she finished cutting his hair completely and they both looked through the mirror at the finished work
