19 April, 2005.

THAT MORNING, Draco got up and for the first time in five years, he didn't follow his routine at all.  Despite having a bit of a hangover from the night before —which he and Mittie got drunk—, he got up early and went to take a shower while once again, he thought of Annelisse.

He was mentally reviewing her face, the moment he saw her, how different she was now and at the same time how beautiful she still was. He thought about what he felt when he saw her again yesterday. Draco knew perfectly well that Annelisse had never completely left his heart despite feeling something for Daphne, and seeing her again relived a lot of feelings that he believed he had managed to lock up.

When he finished showering, he wrapped a towel around his body, went to the closet in his room and got dressed.  He needed to get out, wherever it was, to think about the situation. The love of his life just turned back and even if he still loved her, he was mad at her too.

Annelisse, that morning after spending the night awake —regretting her decision and in a fit—, decided to pack her bags.  She believed that it had been a complete mistake to return her, as much as now, apparently, she could do it without having died at trying.

She had her bags ready once more and was sitting on the bed in her hotel room, watching her hand, sadly. With the other, she caressed her wrist, tracing the lines of that atrocious scar that that Unbreakable Vow left on her skin, reliving all the pain, how her heart was broken, feeling again even those non-physical scars that that horrible day left on her.

Annelisse felt like the worst person in the world once again. She would never have done something like that, she had no alternative.  Forced to swear against her will, to leave behind everything she loved and to leave voids that could never be filled without her even if she did not know it.

The noise of her door abruptly pulled Annelisse out of her thoughts.  For a second, she doubted whether to open it, since she wasn't expecting anyone.  In fact, nobody knew that she was in that hotel except her family, with whom she had been until yesterday, since she returned to London.

She got up when saw that the noise was persistent, someone knocking on the door.  She thought that maybe her mother had something important to talk about with her and had come to see her but what she found after opening the door was something else entirely.

"Mittie."  She said with great surprise in her voice and gulped in concern "What are you doing here? How did you—"

"You can't hide anymore. I went to see your mother and after a lot of fighting with her, she told me where you were."  Mittie was about to enter but Annelisse stopped her.

"Mittie, no."  She sighed making a little pause "I'm leaving. I'm leaving England today."

"What? No, Annelisse, don't even think about it."  She threatened her "Are you going to disappear again?"  She said incredulously, raising her voice.

Frustrated, Annelisse turned into the hotel room and Mittie followed, closing the door behind her.

"Don't even turn your back on me, Annelisse!"  She said angrily "After disappearing for five damn years without explanation, do you come back and just—leave again?"

"It doesn't make any sense for me to stay."  She responded reluctantly, dragging sadness into her words.

"Then why the hell did you come back?! Why the hell did you come back if you were going to leave again?"

"I had to do it, okay?!"  She also raised her voice "I found out about his father and I had to come, I couldn't not do it!"  In a way, that was true and it was all she could tell her at the same time.
