RIGHT AFTER watching Annelisse disappear, Draco slammed on the table, not caring about where he was or with whom. He stared at the door for a few more seconds, thinking and at the same time hating what she had just done.

"I'm so sorry, Malfoy."  The minister commented because of the situation "Your father asked me personally and I could not refuse it."

"It's okay, Minister."  Narcissa said rising from her seat seriously.  She was also unhappy with what had just happened and she wished as much as Draco to understand why her late husband —after so long— had done such a thing.  She wanted to know what was in the letter "Are we finished yet?"  She asked.

"Sure, you can go."  He smiled politely, signaling that they could go.

"Draco, come on. Let's go home."  She raised her hand to him to come.

Still angry, frustrated, and feeling his heart beat a mile an hour, snorted just before joining his mother and leave the Ministry.

Minutes later, mother and son had shown up at Malfoy Manor.  Hearing hardly any noises, just the clicking of his mother and his shoes, they both advanced towards the living room.

Draco, instantly regardless of the time, went to the minibar and poured himself a glass of whiskey, which he downed in one gulp.  Letting out a gasp, he turned around and could see his mother watching him.

"Did you know anything about that, mother?"  He asked her, moving the empty glass in his hand, seriously.

"Draco," she said moving closer to him "I didn't know anything about this, your father didn't — he didn't love Annelisse, he never told me about her."  She was frowning at her own words.

"And then, what is this about,  to mend mistakes, to find happiness and all that shit?"  He asked with clear annoyance in his voice.

"I don't know, I— I just remember a few days before she disappeared, I caught your father talking to her, they seemed to argue or something."

"When, where?"  Draco said confused at such information that he was completely unaware of.

"One day, making some preparations for the wedding, I made her come to here, we had tea and when I came back from the upstairs to show her something, Lucius and Annelisse were talking. When I asked her, she just said that they were discussing something about  the wedding, something that doesn't really make a lot of sense now. "

"And you never thought of telling me such a thing?"  He said raising his voice "Couldn't you think that maybe, father did something to her?"  He added almost yelling, which caught his mother completely by surprise.

Neither spoke.  Draco's mind was wandering again, a possible remote idea popping into his head, causing his face to instantly pale at the thought. He was repeating that same idea in his head, beginning to feel the dizziness invade his body, which Narcissa realized and approached him.

"Draco, what, what is it?"

"He forced her."  He said almost without a voice.  She fixed her eyes on her mother's, beginning to feel the rage emanate from her body. "He forced her to take an Unbreakable Vow."

"Wait, what?"  Naricssa asked incredulously at such words.

"It has to be, mother." He started walking to the minibar to pour himself another drink.  He quickly drank it "He was the one who forced Annelisse to leave, he took away what I loved so much, he was the one who screwed up my life!" He ended up screaming and instantly threw the empty glass with force, no matter where it went.

The noise of the glass breaking impressed Narcissa, echoing throughout the room. She was in shock at such information, she did not want to believe what her own son had just said although in her mind, everything made sense.

"Why would he do something so horrible?"  She asked.

"Because he never wanted her in the family, he never wanted my happiness and he thought it was nice to screw up my life."  He responded angrily.

"Draco if that's true..." she sighed heavily.  It hurt him that her husband had done such a thing "No, I don't know what to say, what to do. Why didn't she say it when she came back?"

"Because surely your dear dead husband, added that to the Vow."

"Oh my god, this is too much."  Narcissa said as she brought her hand to the forehead, taking a few nervous steps at the situation.

"She could have died, mother!"  Draco told her with clear anger "And I didn't do anything, I couldn't do anything, losing the woman I'm fucking in love with!"

At those words, Narcissa turned and her eyes met Draco's, surprised at those words "And Daphne?"

He snorted before speaking "She left me. She—" snorted again "she realised  how I felt about Annelisse even if I didn't want to. She helped me."

"I'm really sorry Draco, and I really feel bad. She's a very good girl but she's right. And I'm sorry, I feel like a bad mother for saying what I'm going to say but I'm glad to hear that, I always believed that you and Annelisse should have ended up together." Narcissa explained with a certain tenderness on her face.

"If there's one thing I've realized, it's that I'll always love Annelisse, whether she wants to be with me or not."  He gulped. Draco raised her head to look at her mother "I love her too much, mother."

"I know, honey."  She smiled at him tenderly. "Look who she turned you into: a strong, confident man who is loved and loves madly. A happy man. Annelisse turned you into a real man, Draco."

"She did more than that, mother. She saved me. That morning when I met her, I was about to commit the greatest stupidity in the world." He explained waving his hand "If she had not showed up around there, maybe I wouldn't be alive anymore." Finished saying that with a frown, pain in his words.

"Draco, you never told me that — you never told me you were thinking about those things. I'm so sorry—" she spoke approaching him "If I had known before..."

"It doesn't matter anymore, mother. I'm fine now and like I said, she saved me."  Draco replied "And I can't stay mad at her if it's true that father did that to Annelisse. I can't be mad at her when I understand now that she really had no choice, that she could have died and had to disappear."

"And why don't you go to see her?"  She suggested with a slight smile "Make her see that you love her, that you understand what happened."

"I will do better."  He said going to one of the desks that they had there in the living room, took out a piece of parchment and a quill, beginning to write "I will invite her to a dinner."  Draco added closing the scroll and then putting it in an envelope to send it.
