Rain fell over Hogwarts on Thursday. That didn't stop the students from running through the muddy puddles to the Great Hall. Maddie and Caroline were running through the rain along with the rest of the students. Caroline was attempting to keep dry her freshly dried hair while Maddie just tried to run fast.

They made their way to the Great Hall, their ropes dripping with the rain. Cedric dropped his name into the Goblet with a huge smile on his face. The Hufflepuffs surrounding him cheered and jumped on him engulfing him into hugs. He looked up from the ground with a smile seeing Maddie and Caroline. He stopped in his tracks for a moment and jogged over to them.

Before either of them could say anything Cedric pulled them into a group hug. The two girls hesitated slightly before throwing their arms around him. Maddie didn't enjoy an embrace with another person, she didn't like to be touched often. Cedric held onto the girls tightly with a big smile on his face.

"Alright we get it." Maddie said trying to break free from him.

"Struggling- for- air." Caroline gasped as Cedric just laughed.

Cedric finally loosened his grip and eventually let his arms go. The girls weren't exactly sure what was making him so happy. The thought of him being so happy for just throwing his name into a blue flame didn't seem to be logical in Maddie's head. "That was the most liberating thing I've ever done."

Maddie raised an eyebrow at his comment, "that?" She questioned while he nodded.

"Some people do drugs, you put your name in a blue flame." Caroline fake smiled towards her friend.

Fred and George ran into the hall with two vials in their hands. "Yeah!" They yelled running into the room as everyone cheered. They high-fived their fellow Gryffindors thanking them for their praise. "Well lads we've done."

"Cooked it up just this morning." Maddie, intrigued walked her way closer to her brothers with Caroline following behind. What could the twins possibly be up to?

"It's not going to work!" Hermione Granger piped it.

"Stop being a bore." Caroline whispered to Maddie as she rolled her eyes, Maddie silently chuckled to herself.

Fred and George exchanged looks before going on either side of the girl. Wanting to know her input, "oh yeah and why is that Granger?" George asked.

She pointed towards the circle around, "you see this? This is an age line Dumbledore drew it himself." She said looking at George.

"So?" Fred smirked, Hermione turned to him as they were face to face. Maddie felt an uncomfortable feeling in her stomach and turned her head so they were out of her view. "So," she started, "a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by a dodge as pathetically dimwitted as an Aging Potion." She rolled her eyes.

Fred turned his head up to Hermione, "ah that's why it's so brilliant."

"Because it's so pathetically dimwitted." George laughed.

Maddie turned her head back around and met the eyes of a confused Caroline. She couldn't possibly think of an explanation of why Maddie was acting so weird about the Weasley twins and Hermione Granger's interaction. Maddie simply brushed her off and looked back at the twins.

The boys shook the potion, "ready Fred?" George asked, "ready George." Fred responded.

"Bottoms up." They said throwing the liquid into their mouth and jumping down into the circle. They stood for a second before everyone started to cheer for them. "Yeah ha ha." They excitedly said. Maddie watched as Fred went around the circle, Fred looked at her and gave her a wink.

Her face fell as the twins put their name into the Goblet. He didn't mean to do that, he had to have been looking at someone else. Her thoughts were cut off by the blue flame sending the twins across the hall. Everyone gasped in shock as their long ginger hair turned white and matching white beards grew on their face. Laughs soon ensued as the twins leaped for the other yelling about who's fault it was.

All the students gathered around the boys screaming, "fight!" Maddie and Caroline took a seat on the bench behind Hermione. Hermione could have cared less about the fight that had broken out in front of the three girls. She really could have also cared less that Maddie and Caroline were right behind her as she opened her book. The room became silent as Viktor Krum, Headmaster Igor, and another Durmstrang student entered the room.

Everyone around Fred and George dispersed as they came closer to the Goblet of Fire. The girls noticed Hermione's gaze on Krum, her eyes didn't go back to her book page. He placed his name in the cup looking right back at Hermione. His face soften when he looked at her which seemed to be out of character for someone who had such a serious face.

Caroline laughed as Krum walked out, "you and Krum?" She asked leaning down towards Hermione. Her face started heating up at Caroline's question and shook her head.

"That was nothing." She tried hiding her smile.

Maddie shrugged, "I think that'd be cute."

Hermione giggled like a little kid with a crush, but like most times she recomposed herself. She shook her head towards the pair, "it was nothing." She quickly grabbed her belongings and made her way out of the Great Hall. Caroline and Maddie looked at each other and back at Hermione who had disappeared.

"What an odd girl." Caroline sighed looking over at the door. Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson walked into the Great Hall together waving at Caroline to go over to them. "I'll come find you before the names are called, save me a seat?" She asked getting up from her seat.

Maddie nodded and watched Caroline walk off to her boyfriend. Parker turned away from his new eighty year old friends and saw his sister alone. He sighed jogging over to her as she played with her rings. "Hey." He said gaining her attention.

She looked up to see her brother standing in front of her, the same one she had flung across the courtyard during their last encounter. "Hey."

Parker sat next to her, "I just wanted to say I'm sorry you didn't deserve that." He said looking at his feet.

"You still deserved the stupefy." Maddie sighed.

"Yeah, you're right." He laughed as Max came and sat with them.

Max looked at his older brother and his younger sister with a smile on his face, "Fred knocked some sense into him in the common room." Maddie furrowed her brows not understanding.

Parker sighed looking at his sister, "he just made me realize how much of a jerk I was to you and how I shouldn't put my name in the cup."

"We're all trying to adapt to life without mom and we have to be there for each other." Max said and his siblings agreed, "so from here on out we have to be there for each other."

"I need that." Maddie said.

"Me too." Parker nodded.

Max smiled pulling the other Burns children in for a hug. Maddie this time hugged back feeling safe and secure in the arms of her older brothers. Fred sat away from the trio of siblings with a smile on his face as he saw Maddie's face light up from Max and Parker. George watched Fred staring at Maddie, growing more and more suspicious of his brother's fascination with the little Hufflepuff.
