(3rd POV)

(Backstory)

It was nearly Valentine's day. A day for people who are in love to spend time with a special someone or stay at their home crying as they eat ice cream. And you are in the latter range and not just because you don't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. This is because you like someone, but you don't think they like you back. This someone was Jaune Arc.

Jaune was very special indeed as he was probably the nicest and cheery boy you probably ever met in your life. You met him one day during Glynda's fight class when the two of you battled. It was relatively easy as you seemed to have more fighting skills than Jaune plus your scorpion tail was a big advantage you had against your opponents since it was another appendage you could use to attack an opponent.

After class Jaune decided to talk with you and the two of you talked about the fight you had with him complementing the way you battle and said how amazing your tail was. You didn't know why, but it felt like your heart was pounding against your chest when he said those things to you. From that moment on the two of you became good friends that liked to hang out.

Or that is what it was like for a while until you finally realized you had a crush on him. You have been trying to keep it a secret for a while, but every time he gets close to you it feels like your cheeks are heating up or you just want to wrap your arms around him and never let go.

(Present Time)

Today was Valentine's day and you were currently in your dorm relaxing by yourself since your teammates were out. There was nothing to do so you peacefully laid on your bed starring at the celling until you heard a knock on a door so you walked over to the door wondering who could be bothering this time in the morning. "Hello?" You asked having no idea who it could be.

You slowly opened the door to see who it was and your eyes opened wide when you see Jaune standing there in the hall way in front of you. "Jaune?!" You asked stunned to see him as he would usually send you message before coming to your Team's dorm.

"Hey (y/n), how are you doing?" Jaune asked giving a sheepish smile. "I'm good, w-what a-are you d-doing here this hour?" You asked scratching the back of your neck. "I just wanted to ask you something in person." Jaune said. "Well what is it?" You asked the blond boy. "Do you maybe want to do something today... you know just the two of us later tonight?" Jaune asked. "U-Us?!" You stuttered.

You were hoping that your heart wouldn't leap out of your chest at the thought of the two of you together on the most romantic day of the year. "What about the others?" You asked. "Well Pyrrha went on a date with Weiss and Ren went out with Nora so they left me alone, but hey it would be better if I got to spend time with you." Jaune smiled making you feel like you were on cloud nine.

"There is this new dance club I heard open up that Yang said would be a great place to yang out some day that I hear is open. Want to go there?" Jaune asked. In fear of embarrassing yourself in front of Jaune by admitting your feeling you wanted to say no, but it was like your mouth had a mind of its own. "Sure!" You quickly said. "Great! See you later tonight." Jaune said waving to you before he walked away.

You weakly waved back and once he was out of sight you slammed your door shut and turned back into your room almost hyperventilating. Jaune, the boy you had a crush on, Jaune just aske to hang out with you on the day of love! What does that mean?! Does this mean he asked you on a real date? Or did he just generally want to hang out with you as a friend?
