(Y/n) lay in bed staring up at the ceiling. Tomorrow was Valentine's Day and once again she would be dateless. It's not that she hadn't had her eye on someone for a while now, but she was sure that he would never be interested in her. To him and all the others, (Y/n) was just one of the boys. Another part of the team. And given his recent split from his two timing girlfriend, (Y/n) knew that it probably wasn't the right time to tell him how she felt. Even if she could work up the courage.

Lee Christmas was the most amazing man that (Y/n) had ever met. There was something about the Englishman that had drawn her attention as soon as Barney had introduced them. He was brave and charming, with a wicked sense of humour. And the way he looked just made (Y/n) weak at the knees. But over (Y/n)'s time with the Expendables, no matter how close the two seemed to have got, Lacey was always there in the background. And no matter how much she cared about Lee, (Y/n) wasn't the type of woman to be classed as a homewrecker, so she had always kept a suitable distance away from the ex-SAS soldier.

(Y/n) groaned as she remembered that the entire city would be decked out in cutesy crap. The thought of all that love making her feel worse than she already did. But (Y/n) determined that she would play along and smile through it. It was only one day after all, and even though she knew that Tool's shop, where she lived, would have its own special love theme. (Y/n) had planned to escape to Barney's hangar, where she could hide from the day and help Barney try and get the best out of the team's plane's engines.

                                                                >>-------------------------------<<

As (Y/n) woke the next morning, she groaned loudly hoping that there would be some place other than her own room that Tool wouldn't have had decorated for all the ladies in his life. But knowing Tool, she seriously doubted it. As she turned onto her side, her eyes slowly fluttered open, adjusting to the sunlight that peaked through her blinds; (Y/n) suddenly staring in disbelief as she was greeted by a perfect single red rose that lay on the pillow next to her. In normal circumstances it would have been creepy that someone had come into her room while you slept and left it there. But the bloom was so perfect that (Y/n) couldn't help but be happy. And for once on Valentine's Day (Y/n) felt as though she was going to have a smile on her face.

"Tool!" (Y/n) called out. as she made her way down the stairs and into her older brother's tattoo parlour. The retired mercenary poking his head around the corner and smiling as he lay eyes on his sister. His smile growing wider as he saw the rose in her hands.

"Morning sweetheart. What ya got there?" Tool asked, despite the fact that he knew all too well what it was, and whom it had come from.

"Well, obviously it's a rose. You have bought enough of these over the years to, I am sure, make them almost instinct. All I need to know, is where it came from. Because I can't believe that you don't know." (Y/n) said, looking at Tool suspiciously as he puffed on his pipe.

"Sorry little sis. I can't say. But I do know that there is a parcel here for you." Tool told her, as he pushed a neatly wrapped box in her direction.

"I don't believe for one second that you don't know what is going on. Or who put this on my pillow." (Y/n) replied, as she looked at the parcel apprehensively. Not sure what to think.

"Are ya gonna open it, or just look at it?" Tool asked, as he pushed the small package a little closer to (Y/n).

"Okay. Okay. Jeez." (Y/n) said, as she took a seat in one of Tool's tattoo chairs. Her eyes growing wide as she slowly opened the box and saw another perfect rose placed between the pages of a copy of Shakespeare's sonnets. Her heart beating faster as she opened the book to the marked page, and saw the words of her favourite verse.

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, and summer's lease hath all too short a date." Toll quoted, knowing all to well what (Y/n) was looking at.

"Tool. If this is a joke, it isn't funny." (Y/n) said slightly harshly, as she shut the book and placed it on the table next to her.

"No joke, sweetheart. Looks ta me like my little sister has a secret admirer." Tool chuckled, as (Y/n) furrowed her brows. Having a feeling that her brother knew more than he was saying.

"Anyway. Barney called. He needs ya help at tha hangar. He was complaining that the left engine is misfiring again." Tool continued, as he pulled (Y/n) from the chair and almost pushed her out of the shop.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't." Tool called out as he shut the door behind (Y/n). Leaving his sister in the middle of the street, still wondering what he was up to.

                                                                 >>------------------------------<<

(Y/n) got out of the car as she arrived at the small airport where Barney kept the team's plane. All the way there she had mussed over who this so called secret admirer could be. (Y/n) knew that given how protective Tool was, this secret admirer could only be someone that he approved of. And as there weren't many that he approved of, (Y/n) knew that it could only mean that it was one of the boys on the team. She had to admit that all the guys were wonderful, and she loved them all. But most of them were like other big brothers. Yet, whoever it proved to be, after all the trouble they had been through to make her feel special on a day where she had never really felt special, she knew that she would have to love them for what they had done. But she still couldn't help but hope that it was someone in particular.

Making her way into the hangar, (Y/n) couldn't help but notice that it was strangely quiet. Normally when Barney wanted her help with the engines, she would arrive to find the big man already up to his elbows in grease. But today there wasn't a sign of him.

"Barney!?" (Y/n) called out as she made her way to his office. Hoping that she would find the leader of the team perusing some file on a new mission. The female weapons expert instead finding another perfect rose. A rose that this time was not of a blood red colour, but an exquisite deep black. A small handwritten note on top of Barney's desk, also catching her attention.

My dearest (Y/n).

Just like this rose, you are truly one of a kind.

If you want my heart, go to your locker in the locker room.

Your Secret Admirer

(Y/n) eyes grew wide as she read the note. Her mind filling with all manner of questions as she sprinted to the locker room. Her heart pounding violently as she stood in front her locker.

Cautiously (Y/n) opened the small metal door. Staring in disbelief as there on a hook, hanging by a golden chain, was a golden heart with a bright blue sapphire at its centre. (Y/n) slowly reaching up her hand and taking the jewel in her palm. Gently caressing the beautiful blue stone with your thumb.

"Be my Valentine?" A warm familiar voice asked from behind her. (Y/n) breath hitching in her throat as she turned around slowly to find the man that she secretly hoped it would be.

There, dressed in a perfectly tailor suit stood Christmas. An exquisite bouquet of blooms gripped in his hands.

"I know that this may seem a little sappy, but I think you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, (Y/n). Your intelligent and beautiful. And you've always been there when I needed ya. I know that it might seem a bit quick, but you have my heart. And I was hoping that you would agree to be my Valentine for today and forever." Christmas said, for once in his life feeling nervous as he waited for an answer.

Before he could say anymore, (Y/n)'s lips were on his. The bouquet discarded on the floor as he pulled her into an embrace. (Y/n) pulling away from his lips so that she could rest her forehead on his.

"Lee Christmas. I would love to be your Valentine." (Y/n) replied, as he spun her around, and took to chain from her hand. Gently placing the jewel around her neck.

"I might not be perfect, (Y/n). But I promise I'll do my best to make every day just as special as today." Christmas said softly, before pulling (Y/n) back into his arms and kissing her again. (Y/n) having a feeling that she would never hate Valentines Day ever again.
