The little boy woke up,
Blinking his eyes to see the sight.
He approached the window
And heard some sounds

Of a women confessing her husband, "I trust you more than myself, love"

His smile withered away at those words.
He wondered why it had to happen with him?

Was trust all that mattered to carry on a relation?

He took the glass and threw at the window,
The pieces fell down shattering his heart.

He fell prey to her.
She took advantage of his kindness.

He wondered,
Was being innocent a crime?
Was thinking about everyone good was?

He touched the cold ground with his feet, having immense pain.
The glass pieces pierced his feet, breaking his heart, again anyway.

He lay lifeless on the ground, his eyes struggling to be open.
As he gave up, he uttered his last words,

"I wish trust never existed"
