The Dolphin

I strutted across the sandy beach
The coarse sensation of the sand tickled the under of my feet.

I drifted towards the unwavering sound of the waves.
Plopping down on the wet sand,
I faced the unending sea ;
And breathed in its salty fragrance.

Splash!
A dolphin surfaced
Ducking and diving the animal swam.

Splash!
it returned to its home "the Sea".

A slight smile appeared on my face at its carefree antics.

A look of longing danced in my eyes.

What would it be like to enjoy a minute of freedom and carefree laughter?

As dusk descended upon the earth;

I stood up and dusted off the sand glued to my dress.

With long strides, I headed to the vintage car that had weathered all the storms with me.

Driving away from the beach; I longed to be back there watching the dolphins play without restriction.
