Vinnie had to go to this very fancy and professional event and he took me as his plus one. i felt extremely special. he bought me a gown and surprised me with it saying he knew it would look beautiful on me. he was right.
when the event was over it was pouring out. he pulled off his suit coat and held it over me as we went as fast as we could towards his car. we were giggling and holding hands. it was something out of a movie.
we got in the car and he began to drive away. "so... did you have a good time?" he smiled at me quickly before turning back to the road. "i felt like a princess. it was amazing." "you're my princess." he reached over and intertwined our fingers, giving my hand a squeeze. "gross! that was so cheesy." i teased him. "i am cheesy that's why you love me." he rolled his eyes playfully. i turned my head to admire him. "i do love you...very much." "i love you too baby." he squeezed my hand again. i smiled.
we finally got onto the winding road that led to our house in the mountains. my life was completely perfect. i didn't want or need anything else. suddenly the car pulled over. i turned to look at him, worried. "what's wrong? are you falling asleep? want me to drive?" "shh baby. look." he pointed to the rain. he was creeping me out cause it was dark.
"baby what are you pointing at? you're scaring me." he laughed at me. "baby i'm pointing at the rain! it's so pretty. come on." he turned the song that was on all the way up and opened the door to the car. 'altered state of mind' played on the speakers.
i watched as he stood outside of the car letting his suit get completely soaked. i started laughing uncontrollably. this was crazy. my gown was so expensive but i was buried in the moment. i removed my heels. i opened my door and ran to him.
his smile widened even more. we were yelling and laughing into the dark. we were literally standing on an empty rainy street connected to a mountain. i felt so free it was insane. the amount of joy that filled me was irreplaceable. i had everything i'd ever wanted. i had everything i thought i'd never have.
i had someone who loved me. i had a beautiful home in the mountains. i had good friends. i had happiness.
he spun me around as my dress grazed the floor. it was soaked at the bottom. i was standing barefoot in a puddle being spun around by the love of my life. his laughter didn't stop and it echoed off the distance. the song kept playing and i knew the open doors of our car were getting soaked but i couldn't bother to think about that.
he spun me once again and pulled me into him. he kissed me like i'd never been kissed before. with a kind of passion i couldn't explain. i felt his love throughout my entire body. suddenly i was whole. he had never kissed me like this before. nothing could compare to him. he was everything.
