I knocked on the door three times, Tom standing right behind me as I tapped my foot nervously against the pavement.

The door opened quickly and Monica stood there, tears in her eyes as she let Tom and me in.

"Y-Y/n I-I don't know-"

"Monica, take a deep breath," I said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder as I led my cousin in breathing.

Monica calmed down and closed her eyes, focusing on her words.

"It's Emma, she started throwing up this morning and I-I have no idea why. She's been complaining about her stomach hurting and I'm scared that...that..."

"Hey, don't cry, love," I whispered as tears fell down Monica's face.

"We'll take her to the doctor tomorrow, don't think about it at all tonight, just get some rest and I'll be back in the morning," I whispered and Monica nodded, biding me and Tom goodnight.

I walked out of the townhouse, Tom right behind me and we stood outside my car.

"You don't think..."

"I don't know," I whispered, my thoughts going a mile-a-minute. Emma had never really told me of her personal life or...her sex life and things like that. I didn't know whether she was on birth control or not. It could be extremely likely that she was pregnant. That was the last thing I wanted to happen to the poor child.

"I really don't want to think about this right now," I said, massaging my temples.

"I think you need to get some sleep, love," Tom whispered and I gave him a weak smile.

"I've barely thought of sleep at all today," I whispered and Tom nodded.

"Let me take you home," Tom said and I looked up at him, he looked exhausted, probably worse than I did. The bags under his eyes were prominent and I didn't fail to notice him yawning every so often.

"But Tom, my car is here," I said, motioning to the vehicle behind me.

"We'll be back here tomorrow morning, I'll pick you up," He said and I nodded, too tired to fight with him about it.

We walked over to his car and I got in the passenger seat as he started the car.

"You know where I live right?" I asked and he nodded.

"You may have mentioned it once or twice...or ten times," He joked, referring to about two years ago when I told everyone about my really nice house out in the suburbs. I laughed as he pulled out of the driveway.

It was already dark out and the streetlights illuminated the road as Tom drove in silence, the occasional car passed on the opposite side of the car.

He pulled up to my two-story house and turned to car off. We sat there in silence before I spoke up.

"D-Do you want to come inside?" I asked and Tom gave me a soft smile.

"I'd love to," He said and I smiled, stepping out of the car and taking my keys out of my pocket.

Tom followed me inside and sat down on the couch as I moved around the living room.

The air was slightly awkward as I sat down next to Tom.

"I don't think I've ever been inside your house before," To, said and I nodded, a small smile on my face.

"You're the first houseguest I've had that wasn't family or my best friend," I said.

"So I'm not your best friend?" Tom asked, feigning being hurt.
