This is sad (well it made me sad) but it has a happy ending.

It was late.

11:36 at night to be exact.

I knew that I shouldn't have gone out so late at night but I really wanted a cupcake from Gigi's. I sat in the back of a cab as I watched the street lights pass by. My gut told me that I shouldn't have gone out but my stomach told me I should, so as usual, I listened to my stomach.

That was my first mistake.

The second was telling the cab driver to wait outside while I got my ice cream.

"It'll just be a few minutes," I said, climbing out of the car as the old man nodded, turning the radio on as I walked inside.

I found what I was looking for relatively quickly, chocolate Häagen-Dazs ice cream. I walked up to the only cashier open, a woman who looked to be in her earlier to late 50s. Her name tag said, Crystal.

I gave her a small smile as I pulled out a ten-dollar bill. Just as she handed back my change we heard a loud bang from outside.

"What on earth was that?" Crystal asked and I shrugged.

"I'm not sure but it sounded close," I said, looking around towards the door, hoping my ride wouldn't leave 'cause of the noise. I didn't have another way to get home and didn't really want to take the bus.

"You get home safe dear, it's very late," She said and I nodded, saying a quick thank you as she handed me the ice cream.

I walked outside, slightly regretting that I hadn't bought a spoon when I looked up and gasped.

The cab driver was hunched over the steering wheel, blood covered the passenger side window and on the driver side, the glass was shattered where the bullet had pierced it.

"Good evening, darling," Now my heart really started to beat fast. If it was who I thought it was, I'd be fucked. Slowly, I turned my head.

Tom was leaning against his car, a smirk on his face as he looked at me.

"What do you want Tommy?" I asked, my voice cold and his smile disappeared.

"Get in the car," He said turning and opening the passenger door.

"No, Thomas, I'm not going to just-"

"GET IN THE FUCKING CAR Y/N!" He yelled this time and I shut up, I wouldn't admit it, but every time he was mad, I got scared. He never took his anger out on me but I still knew he was dangerous and with how I left things last time we saw each other, I was already on thin ice.

I made my way to the car, once I was inside, he closed the door and walked around to the driver's side. Pulling out of the parking lot as I stared out the window.

I should've known that he'd find me. I also know why he was mad, I'd made it perfectly clear that I didn't want any part of his business. He was the leader of the richest and most powerful mob in the world. I didn't want to hurt people as he did, but he didn't like the idea of me leaving either.

He drove us back to a fancy hotel in the heart of the city. We both got out of his car and he led me to his room. It was one of the suits that had a really nice view of the city.

Once we were inside I turned to face him.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, breaking the silence and looking over at him.
