The Holland family gathered around each other as they contemplated their options. It was a week until Y/n's 25th birthday and they wanted it to be memorable.

"We should get her a necklace with her name on it," Paddy said but Harry shook his head.

"Y/n would never wear something like that," he said, his twin nodding his head in agreement.

"Maybe we could get her a gift card to her favorite store?" Sam said but Nikki crossed her arms.

"Y/n is worth more to this family than just some gift card," she scolded and Sam looked down.

"What about a trip to Singapore? She loves going there," Dom said and the family nodded, agreement on at least one present.

"What do you think Tom? She is your girlfriend after all and you've hardly spoken," Sam said looking over at his older brother who was staring at the floor. He looked pale, his knee didn't stop bouncing, a clear sign of nerves.

"Y-yeah a-actually I had a different gift in mind," he reached over the back of the couch and pulled his jacket back, he reached inside the pocket and pulled out a small box.

The rest of the Holland's leaned in.

"Is that what I think it is?" Nikki asked in amazement.

"Y-yeah," Tom said, his hands shaking as he opened the box.

Inside was a ring, but not just any ring, an engagement ring.

It had an amethyst gem surrounded by diamonds. It was beautiful yet simple, something Y/n loved. The Holland's gasped as they admired it.

"It was Y/n's grandmothers. When Y/n was gone I saw it and asked her mother if I could use it to ask Y/n to marry me," Tom said, still looking at the ring in his hand. It seemed so surreal right now. He was really going to do this.

"Well, we can definitely plan a great birthday around this!" Paddy said, still admiring the ring.

"Alright so here's what we'll do..."

Y/n stood at the entrance to the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore. Already deciding that she wanted to live here forever. The Holland's and her parents stood next to her. Admiring the gorgeous view before she took her boyfriend's hand and practically dragged him to the receptionist desk to get their room.

"I can't believe we're here!" Y/n said excitedly as she walked down the hallway to her and Tom's shared hotel room.

"Well, you've always wanted to come here," Tom said a big smile on his face. But Y/n didn't miss the nervous look in his eyes. He'd been like that for a few weeks now. Always jittery and last week, when she walked into their room he quickly hid something that he was holding. Y/n was unsure what it was but she was here to celebrate her birthday, and at this moment, reality could wait.

-

The Holland's and L/n's sat around a big table covered with different types of food. Y/n stared at it all. Waiting for the waiters to leave so she could start loading her plate up with everything. Her stomach was empty and she was starving, ready to eat anything that was placed in front of her.

Tom on the other hand, could even look at food without feeling the butterflies in his stomach. In less than an hour, he would be asking Y/n to marry him.

As the rest of the group sat happily, thinking of what was soon to happen, Y/n sat oblivious to the mood around her, living this moment to the fullest she almost didn't notice Tom standing up.

"Love, let's walk around for a bit, it feels nice out," he said holding his hand out to her she gladly took it and stood up. Bidding the rest of the group goodbye.

They watched after the couple, giant smiles on their faces.

Tom and Y/n walked along the bay. The hotel lit up in the dark was one of the prettiest things that Y/n had ever seen.

"It's so beautiful," Y/n smiled looking up at the sky.

"Yes, you are," Tom said in a dreamy adoration. Y/n blushed as the couple kept walking.

Tom suddenly stopped and when Y/n turned around her eyes widened.

Tom was on one knee, in his hand, was a blue box. She gasped when he opened it. Inside the box was an amethyst ring, her grandmothers wedding ring.

"Y/n, you and I have been through so much together. I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have you by my side. You have always made my world a better place. Would you give me the honor of being able to call you my wife?" Tom asked his heart racing as he saw Y/n's eyes start to water.

"Yes! Yes of course!" She said and Tom stood up wrapping his arms around her as they both let out laughs. When they pulled away Tom took the ring out of the box and slid it onto Y/n's ring finger, thankfully, it was a perfect fit.

Tom leaned in and kissed Y/n and as soon as their lips touched, they heard cheering from the balcony area above them. They looked up to see their families cheering. They both laughed and smiled.

Tom looked down at his, now fiancée, she was just as beautiful as the day he met her, and now he couldn't wait to start the next chapter of their lives. Together.
