Tom walked out of the elevator and into the main lobby, many of the workers nearby staring him down. He didn't really care though, he was only there because of the big meeting between companies. Once the receptionist looked up and saw him, she jumped up excitedly.

"Mr. Holland! I-it's you!"

"Yes, may I ask where the conference room is, the walls are so bright I might just blind myself walking around," Tom insulted and the receptionist was about to answer when another voice cut her off.

"It's ok, Renee, I'm on my way there, I'll take him," The receptionist, Renee, turned around and saw her boss, Y/n L/n. if her clothes and make-up weren't enough to show the power she had, her voice certainly did. She walked over to the group, giving Tom a harsh look.

"Ms L/n! Oh, I have a drink for you!" Renee ran around the desk and pulled a pink drink out of the mini-fridge. "I've seen pictures of you holding these drinks and I have them just in case you ever came over to the desk needing something," Renee held the drink out to Y/n with a straw.

"Oh...uh...thank you, that's very kind," Y/n said, taking the drink awkwardly. She turned back towards Tom.

"Well, are you ready? Or do you need more time to insult my employees?" Both of them rolled their eyes at the other.

"Lead the way," Tom said sarcastically.

Y/n layed in bed looking at the man that was laying next to her. Tom's eyes were closed and his breath was even, and she knew he was asleep. The sheets covered their bare bodies and his arm was wrapped around her waist.

She sighed before moving out of his grip, putting on the clothes closest to the bed, which had been Tom's shirt and her pyjama pants. She walked out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her, and walked towards the kitchen.

The blue light hurt her eyes as she moved around the kitchen, making two pieces of avocado toast.

Two hours later she sat on the couch, the tv playing when the bedroom door opened, and Tom walked out in just his sweatpants.

"Hey," he said sitting down on the couch next to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into him. She rested her head on his shoulder.

"Hi," She whispered and he looked at her.

"How long have you been up?" He asked.

"About two hours," Y/n said and Tom frowned.

"Why?" Y/n shrugged.

"Couldn't sleep, I'm just thinking about the meeting today," Tom sighed.

"Don't remind me. I don't want to have to deal with those idiots at all," Tom groaned and Y/n laughed. "And I really don't want to pretend to hate you for two hours," Tom whined and Y/n gave a weak smile.

"It's just for a little bit, so no one suspects anything," she said but Tom's frown only grew.

"Why do we even have to pretend? Your brother can't do anything to our businesses. He doesn't have that power anymore," Tom said referring to Y/n's brother Harrison.

Harrison had never liked Tom, they had always butted heads when they were in primary school, and every year after that. So when Tom fell in love with his little sister, he knew that Harrison could never find out.

"He still owns a fourth of my business. I can't sacrifice that Tom," Y/n said and Tom looked away.

"Will we ever be able to go public?" He asked, fearing the worst from her answer. Y/n sighed.

"I don't know. But even if we can't, we still have each other," she said, trying to be hopeful. Tom gave a weak smile.

"That's right baby, you'll always have me."
