They said to lock yourself inside your head,
Don't come out or you'll be dead.
Don't expose the pain, don't let them in,
Keep the hurt and tears within.

Smile that smile you've been practicing for years,
Don't let them see that you're scared.
Don't let them see the scars,
Forget that you ever cared.

They say to pull it together, don't let it go,
Fake it till you break it, make them believe you're hollow.

Ignore the pain,
Ignore the tear,
Wipe your eyes,
pretend the hurt isn't there.

Fight until your final breathe,
Tilt your chin, and hold up your head...
Until the voices are finally dead.
