As the night draweth near,
The blissful warmth of the sun fades away.
The purple, and orange of the sky blend together,
As darkness replaces the day.

Light slowly fades,
Though some blue sky stubbornly stays.
Most persons retire to their homes,
While some allow their feet to wonder and stray.

Into the night we tarry on,
As the crickets gleefully play their song.
The cool, breeze whispers secrets into my ear,
While the land sleeps and waits for dawn
.
Bugs crawling on her surface,
There is barely any sound.
Just the occasional barking,
In the silent, peaceful town.

Stars proudly showcase their glow,
And oh how I wish daylight would not come,
The moon shines bright, it's glory to show,
As I observe how peaceful night time, has made my home become.

Be thankful for the moon and stars,
The clouds and the sun at the morning break, the crack of dawn.
Do not take them for granted,
Because you will surely miss them,
When they're gone.
