About 2 weeks ago (because I m a terrible person who didn't update this book) my father took me and my mom to an excursion. We went to the mountain of course. It was very steep though and I was honestly really scared. Anyway the good part is that the view was amazing and most importantly...

...on top there was an ancient castle!
Not one of the famous castles though. This is a castle from the time of Pyrros. Pyrros was the cousin of Alexander the Great and he was from the region of Greece in which I live. His dream was to do what Alexander the Great did, but in the West. It was the time when the Romans had started to gain power in the Mediterranean so he was fighting them. There are many interesting stories but I don't want to bother you with them. If you want to learn more, tell me.
Back to the subject now. So the castle/fortress was from the time of Pyrros but it was also used during the times of the Byzantine Empire.
There was also a huge city surrounding it. The remains of this city nowadays are Byzantine churches.
However, nobody really knows about all this. The archaeologists pay more attention to the Ancient Greek stuff and they completely forget about that part of Greek history. This means that there's no normal path to get to the castle and the castle itself is exactly as it was left so many centuries ago, slowly getting destroyed by the nature that surrounds it.
