Chapter 44 - I'll Miss You

I keep on looking at my watch. Pwede bang tumigil ito bago mag-11 p.m.?

Then I felt his hand on top of mine.

"You okay?" Tanong nya. Tumango lang ako.

But the truth is, hindi. I think I will never be. Ken's leaving in less than five hours. He'll be thousand of miles away from me. Ano ba talaga ang dapat kong maramdaman? Saya o lungkot?

"Will you stop thinking of stuff for a minute, Mace."

"Huh?"

"Lumilipad na naman isip mo."

Umiling ako. "I'm sorry."

Tumawa sya nang mahina. "I was right, wasn't I?"

"Yeah. I was actually thinking, bat ang aga natin dito? Eh 11 pa naman pala flight mo? Nakapagcheck-in ka na, ready to go kung tutuusin." Tanong ko.

He held my hand tightly. "I wanna spend some alone time with you. Kung late or sakto tayong darating dito, some of my co-workers will be here for sure. Kung ganitong oras, mas maganda. Mas makakasama pa kita."

"Kahit na hindi tayo nag-uusap?"

He looked at me. "Mace, your presence is more than enough."

Tignan mo tong lalaking to! Aalis na nga lang, nagpapakilig pa. Hay na ko Ken Damien!

Dahil wala na kaming masyado mapag-usapan, we decided to listen to music sa phone nya.

Tumango lang ako.

"Will you come after me?"

Natawa ako nang mahina. "Ken, hindi ka pa nga umaalis, yan na agad ang iniisip mo."

"Pero what if lang, will you?"

"I will."

"Good. Kasi kung hindi ka susunod doon, ako ang pupunta dito."

"Ken!"

"What?"

"Stop joking around!"

"Sinong nagsabing nagjojoke ako?"

"Seriously?" Saka sya tumawa.

Hinampas ko sya sa balikat nya. Saka ko napansin na may nakatingin sa aming mag-asawa. Nginitian ko lang sila, and napansin siguro ito ni Ken kaya hinanap nya yung nginitian ko.

"Kilala mo?"

"No."

"Oh."

There's a part of me na gustong paalisin na si Ken para makapag-mukmok na ko sa kwarto ko, and the other of me wants him to just stay beside me, feel his warmth and presence.
