Chapter 12

Lucas's POV:
"Why do you have my phone?!" I exclaimed, reaching for it.

Missy moved it away from me. "I found it... And I was gonna return it you."

She was hesitant before she handed me the phone back.

I opened up my text messages and started texting Maya.

Lucas: hey I'm so so sorry I'm on my way home...

I pressed "send" but it wouldn't send.

"What the heck! I'm out of data." I said, rapidly pressing my phone.

Missy faked a smile. "Oh that's too bad."

I stood up from the table. "listen I gotta go home."

Missy sighed. "So soon?"

"Yes. Take me back to the movie theater to get my car." I demanded.

She let out another sigh. "Fine. But first."

She started walking closer to me and our voices suddenly stopped.

Maya's POV ☺️
I put Annie into her crib and put some toys in there.

I shut the light off and cracked her door slightly.

I headed towards the front window and looked outside into the darkness.

Where the heck is he?

I took my phone out of my pocket and read the text message.

'Ill be home soon babe'

At least he found his phone, I guess....

I glanced at the clock and saw it was 9:00.

I sighed, sitting on the couch. Lucas will be home soon....

I found myself slowly drifting off to the sleep.

I woke up to a door opening and shutting loudly.

I opened my eyes and leaned up. "Lucas you're home!"

He didn't say anything, just wordlessly walked over to me.

"Maya I have to talk to you..." He said slowly.

I crossed my legs. "What is it?"

He sighed, grabbing my two hands. "I'm super sorry but.... I'm breaking up with you."

My heart shattered into millions of pieces. "I don't understand...."

He let go of my hands and started walking away. "I found someone better. Goodbye maya."

I watched him walk out the front door and I felt tears start to fall.

"Maya wake up."

I felt someone shaking me lightly and I opened my eyes.

My eyes were all watery and I looked around.

I saw Lucas sitting next to me.

I put my hand on my head. "Oh my god it was a dream!"

I must've been crying in my sleep from the dream.

Lucas slowly wiped my tears and said, "im sorry. I went out for a work thing."

I smiled, just relieved to see Lucas still here. "It's okay."

We hugged and I heard Lucas take a deep breath.

I don't know exactly where he was, but I don't really care.

As long as he's here with me.

More Laya to come and unfortunately missy is still in the story...

This story may be a little confusing but it'll make more sense soon I promise.
