Chapter 31

Lucas's POV

As we were driving through the town of Dallas, i could see so many familiar things.

Since i lived in this area for 13 years before moving to New York, i basically knew everything in this city.

It's hard to believe that just 6 months ago i was living here again...

As we pulled up in the driveway of my parent's house, i looked in the back seat to see Maya taking Annie out of the car seat we brought.

As Derek got out of the car to get our things, I leaned over to Maya. "Are you okay?"

She shrugged. "Yeah. Just tired."

"Me too. Can't believe it's only 10 am here."

She laughed. "The early flight is throwing me off."

Derek came back, holding all the stuff. "You guys coming or what?"

I opened the door. "You know you didn't need to get everything right?"

He just shrugged. "Just being nice."

I rolled my eyes. Sure he was.

I got out of the car and took Annie from her carseat before Maya could.

"are you sure you want to walk into your parents house with her?"

I nodded. "Of course. Don't worry about it."

I know Maya has been worried all day about my parents and what they would think of Annie.

But, i moved in months ago. They should be over it by now.

Besides, technically we aren't even teens anymore. We are both 18.

We walked up to the front door and i could already see my parents waiting for me. "Lucas!"

They ran up to hug me, ignoring the fact I had Annie in my arms.

"Hi Mom, dad." I said, trying to hug them with one hand.

They let go and my mom looked at my hands. "Oh this must be...."

"Annie." Maya said, coming up from behind me.

She smiled slightly, changing the topic. "We should all head inside, it's pretty warm out here."

The weather in Texas was very different than New York City. It was way more hot and humid, even in the winter time.

We all went inside and Derek shut the door behind us all.

He put all our stuff down and i looked around.

I could feel this was going to be awkward already.

"So our flight was nice." I said to my parents, breaking the silence.

My mom and dad both nodded. "That's good."

I suddenly felt a nudge and turned around. "Can we talk a second?"

"Sure." I said.

Maya turned to everyone. "Sorry, we will be right back."

We both walked away from the kitchen and went upstairs into my old bedroom.

Maya stopped and looked around. "Wow. This brings back so many memories."

I placed Annie down carefully on the bed, who wanted out of my arms.

"Yeah, like the first time we had sex."

Maya stared at me. "Lucas, our child is right here!"

I shrugged. "I was joking. It wasn't even in this room."

She rolled her eyes and sat next to me. "This is what I wanted to talk to you about."

"Oh...ohh."

"You better not be thinking what I think you are."

I blinked. "Keep talking."

"Where are we even staying tonight? Do our parents even trust is in the same room tonight?"

I laughed. "Maya, that's ridiculous. We've been living together for months."

"I know." She sighed.

"We aren't in high school anymore, they can't really tell us what to do."

It was silent and Maya said, "yeah you're right. Even though your parents terrify me."

I stood up. "Yeah. I think they just need to process all of this."

Maya stood up. "Okay then."

She looked down at the bed to see Annie had fallen asleep on the bed.

"Honestly same." She said.

I smiled at her and said, "well now we have some time to ourselves..."

Maya rolled her eyes. "Pervert."

"What! I didn't even say anything."

She then leaned over and kissed me on the lips.

It felt nice. We haven't kissed in such a long time...

After a few minutes, I heard the door open and we quickly released.

"Hey--woah. This is just like the old times." Derek said, looking at us.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"We are all going to be spending family time together. Fun times."

Maya and Lucas are honestly parents of the year aren't they 😂😂😂

Lol jk but this is just an example of how they are still teenagers.

Anyways, next few chapters will be about Maya and Lucas dealing with Annie while trying to hang out with Lucas's parents at the same time.

It's hard.
