I woke up the next morning on our living room couch.

Last thing I remember was Lucas next to me last night.

I got up and fixed my hair, heading into the kitchen.

I went in the kitchen to see Lucas feeding Annie.

I came up behind me and wrapped my arms around him. "Hey."

He turned around, setting the spoon down. "Hey sleeping beauty. Sleep well?"

I nodded. Gotta admit, I had the best sleep I've ever had in awhile.

Lucas stood up, putting the bowl in the kitchen.

"So you know who has a birthday coming up?" I said, crossing my arms.

Lucas turned around, with an odd expression on his face. "Umm..."

"You don't know do you?" I said.

"Maya I'm so sorry I forgot your birthday---"

I slapped his chest. "No! It's Annie's 1st birthday next week."

Lucas let go of me. "Oh. I knew that."

"Sureee." I said, putting the dirty bowl in the dishwasher.

Lucas grabbed his keys. "I'm definitely gonna take next week off."

"But you just started." I pointed out.

"I know. But it suckssss!" He said overdramatically.

I laughed at him. "Are you working today?"

He didn't have his work uniform on, but he had his keys.

He shook his head. "Nope. I just need to grab something I forgot last night."

He was hesitant at first but finished the sentence.

"You gotta stop forgetting everything." I said, rolling my eyes.

He chuckled. "Be back soon."

He went out the front door and disappeared into the outdoors.

I crossed my arms together. Did he truly leave something or is that just a excuse to leave?

Annie interuppted my thoughts by shrieking quietly.

I looked at her. "You still hungry?"

"Fod! Fod!" She chanted, meaning to say "food"

I laughed. "Okay, I'll get you a bottle."

-with Lucas-

He walked into the movie theater, going to his usual spot.

He spotted the person from inches away and called for her.

"Hey! Hey you." He said, walking towards her.

The brunette turned around and looked at him. "I have a name."

Lucas approached her. "Nothing that happened last night. Happened."

The girl smiled and nodded. "Right right."

"I'm serious. I'm engaged and that just can't happen."

Missy rolled her eyes. "Would you relax? It was barley anything."

"Still." Lucas said.

Lucas left her standing there, and drove away in his car.

Maya's POV:
I flipped through my old high school yearbook, looking at familiar faces.

"Wow. I remember her." I said, pointing at a picture.

Riley peered at where I was pointing.

I invited Riley over and we were looking at old yearbooks.

Riley picked up hers and examined a picture.

"Wow." She simply said.

"What?"

She pointed at a picture. "Missy Bradford. Our middle and high school enemy. Remember her?"

The name rang a bell right away and I shifted uncomfortably.

"Yeah. She dated Lucas in the 10th grade." I scowled.

Riley nudged me lightly. "But you guys dated 11th and 12th."

I smiled slightly. "True."

Riley shook her head. "Man, do you ever wonder what happened to some of these people?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

I looked at the picture of missy on my yearbook.

Her normal look: brunette hair and hair pulled back in a headband.

I sure am happy that she's no longer in my life.
