Chapter 6

-a few days later-
Lucas came into the front door with a big smile on his face.

"Maya guess what!" He exclaimed.

I put the spoon that I was feeding Annie with down.

"What?" I said.

"I got a job!"

I smiled at his excitement. "Really where?"

"At a movie theatre."

I blinked. "Oh."

I picked up Annie's spoon an started feeding her.

Lucas pushed me playfully. "I know it's not the best job ever but it's a start."

I nodded. "I know I know I was teasing you. Congrats babe."

He gave me a side hug and went over to the fridge.

"I have to go back to fill out a final application later, until then wanna hang out?" He winked at me all flirty like.

I shook my head. "I can't, I have to finish my classes and take care of Annie."

Annie smiled and banged her hands when she heard her name.

Lucas made a pouty face and I stood up.

"I'm available tonight...." I winked.

He smiled. "I like it."

"No babies though." I warned him.

His expression changed again. "Aww dang it!"

I slapped his chest. "You are gross."

"And that's why you love me."

An hour later, Lucas left to go to his new job.

I finished one of my exams and sighed.

"This is freaking impossible."

I heard a loud cry and looked over at Annie.

She wasn't actually crying, she was just trying to get my attention.

I walked over to her playpen and looked at her. "what's wrong?"

She moved around and I picked her up. "Okay time to change you."

I went over to her changing room, and set her down.

-with Lucas-
Lucas parked in the parking lot and shoved his keys into his pocket.

He walked into the busy place and looked around.

He had no idea who his boss was. The mangers assistant was the one that hired him.

He looked up and suddenly saw a door that labeled "boss"

He walked over and lightly knocked on the door.

"Coming." A female voice said.

He heard footsteps and suddenly someone appeared at the door.

Lucas's eyes widened as he saw the person.

"Hey I know you...."
