It had been 6 days since his sudden descent into depression happened. He was being kept asleep artificially via morphine - not only as to minimize his pain, but to prevent him from doing anything stupid while he was healing. The wolf doctor felt guilty for the incident, even though he knew it would have happened anyways, sooner or later... He decided to run a series of tests on him to get him thinking on anything other than his current situation. A series of 10th grade math problems would keep him distracted, perhaps even more if he rewarded him with a KitKat.
Dr. K then realized he hadn't given his patient any food or drink, other than the KitKat he gave him in his first day. It had calmed him down so quickly... perhaps he should give the newcomer some more chocolate like he promised.
He looked at the saline solution bag, almost empty. As he searched the cabinets in his office, the black-haired creature woke up.
