~Two Weeks Later~

7) Don't fail math

Chaeyoung walks by your side as you finish writing the goal, closing the book so you can focus on where you're walking. It's been almost a month since you started school and everything is going pretty smoothly. There was the Jimin fiasco in the first two weeks, but now you're over him. So much so that you don't even glance his way during your dance practice. But him?

He never takes his eyes off you

It's honestly frustrating, but you don't care. You'll get a restraining order if you have to. How dare he think he can stare and stare with longing as if he wasn't the one who did this. Regardless, it's not a big deal. Now you have the best six friends in the world with Hoseok getting close to being included. Five boys, one girl. Yeah, your mom would cry. 'Why so many guys?' she'd ask. Your mother wouldn't really have a problem with it, but she'd be worried for you.

That's another thing - home. After only a month and you really miss home. Just the simple things like sleeping in your own bed, having a family to wake up to, homecooked meals at night. Granted, once a week everyone meets up at Jin's place to get homecooked food, but still. No one beats the way your mom makes it, no offense Jin. He'd probably cry if you told him that. Him and his cute little pink spatula get the job done, sure, but not like mom.

You enter biology, bidding your goodbyes to Chaeyoung before taking your seat. So... you may or may not have lost like half of your colored pens already. Buuut you still have your pink one. Mostly because Jin told you that if you ever lose it, you're not allowed at their apartment ever again.

With a small chuckle, you open your goal book, looking at what you got scribbled down. The most recent additions are: 5) plan a trip with Chaeyoung; 6) get to know Yoongi more; and the one you just added now. 7) Don't fail math. So far so good on all the goals except the first one. You're over him. Yeah, you are.

Despite what you just said, you peek up at Jimin's desk. He's sitting there, scribbling in a notebook. You sigh, knowing nothing will happen if you just stare. So, you go back to looking at your own book and thinking. As for class, it's pretty boring. It passes by like a blur, nothing too crazy. Only big deal is you have a test tomorrow, but you'll nail it. Probably.

As soon as class ends, everyone stands. Meanwhile, you're still writing and barely paying attention to them. You hum to yourself, writing a small planner for the day before someone sits on the corner of your desk. It's probably the professor, so you don't jump. "Sorry sir, I'm leaving now." "Sir? Damn... I didn't know I had a sir kink until now."

You snap your head up, surprised to see Jimin sitting there. Wow. The audacity of this bitch. He breaks your heart and comes strolling back in as if you don't have any history together. You ignore him, standing and gathering your books. He sighs, realizing that his flirty comments are only making it worse. "Can we talk?" he asks. Now why would you answer that? You simply shake your head and storm out of the room, not caring if he's following or not.

He does follow, rushing after you. "Please hear me out." "I tried, you didn't even talk. You made it very clear where we stand." He lets out a small breath, "I lied, okay?" "Sucks to suck, doesn't it? You saw how badly lying hurt me with Hoseok, right?" He goes quiet. Yeah, he probably didn't think of that, did he?

"I didn't want to hurt you." As soon as you step outside and away from the other students, you stop and turn to him. "But you did," you sharply reply. He closes his mouth, and to your surprise, there's some tears in his eyes. "I don't know what the fuck your reason is, but I'm not going to hurt myself more by trying to find out. Falling for you is bad for me, Jimin. It'll tear me down and this is college, it's supposed to be fun and parties and learning about something you care for. Not worrying if you'll cheat on me every day. So no, we're not talking. We're done. I don't need you to bring me down," you give him a tear-filled look, "you really hurt me."

Jimin stares in shock, his mouth searching for words, but he can't find any. "I'll make it clear if it wasn't already. I don't want to see you, talk to you, or be with you. And I'm not sorry. I'm not risking my heart for a boy I've known for like what? Two minutes?"

Deep down you feel really, really bad, but at the same time you're hurting. Right after getting shattered by Hoseok's appearance, the one person who gave you hope for relationships again decided to use you. You need time to process this. So, you stare and sigh. "Goodbye Jimin." Without another word, you take off...

~~~
"I fucked up."
"No shit you fucked up."
Jimin leans back on the couch, massaging his temple. For the past two weeks, all he's thought about is her. It wasn't only lust. Granted, he'd love to fuck her again, she was so damn good, but still. It wasn't lust. He likes her a lot. He'd honestly do anything just to see her smile again. Smile for him. Laugh at a dumb joke he said.
"For the first time in over a year, she gave me hope for a relationship. And what did I do? I went and fucked it up," he grumbles, Tae nodding in agreement. "Yeah, and I hate to say it, but I don't know if you can fix this." Jimin peeks at Tae, "what do you mean?" "Well none of the boys want to help you." Jimin goes still, "including you?" Tae hesitates, then nods, "including me. Listen, I'll be by your side for whatever you need, but I told you to give her a chance, didn't I?"
Jimin goes quiet, lowering his head. "Look, you're my best friend," Tae starts, walking over and sitting on the edge of the couch, "but you did this to yourself. I've been telling you ever since you and Dahyun broke up that you should move on. Stop sleeping with random girls then forgetting about them right after. It's not healthy, and she's worth it. Y/N is worth it." "But I can't get her back." "But you can try."
He dryly chuckles, "I tried, but she completely blew up at me." "Wait really?" Jimin nods. "Damn, you go girl." "Tae!" "What? Sorry, I like it when my friends stand up for themselves." Jimin blinks at him, "not helping." Tae shrugs, "I don't know what to say. If you don't know your own feelings, there's not much I can do to help you. I love you, but you really did bring this on yourself."
With another sigh, Jimin closes his eyes. "You've dated a lot of guys before, right?" Tae nods. "What do you do when you mess up?" "I apologize." "Fuck." After a few beats of silence, Jimin smiles. "You can get on me all you want for Y/N, but when are we going to address the elephant in the room?" "What elephant?" Jimin opens his eyes, giving Tae an 'are you shitting me' look.
"You and Jungkook, obviously. Ever since he got here you've been avoiding him. Is your little high school crush coming back?" "I have no idea what you're talking about." Jimin snickers, "uh huh. He liked you back you know." "No way, and it doesn't matter anymore." "Sure it does. Get Taehyung love. That should be one of my goals." Tae looks down, "it doesn't matter." "Why not?" "Because he has a crush." Jimin laughs, "no way." "Jimin." He loses any lightness he has, staring at Tae.
"He likes Y/N."
Jimin feels all his breath leave him. "N-No, that can't be true..." "He told me. Two weeks ago. Something about how he kind of liked her but then backed off because of you and her. Now since you're out of the picture..." Jimin slumps his shoulders, "fucking... fuck." "I'm sorry Jimin. I doubt he'll confess to her, you know how shy he gets..." "What? Don't be sorry for me." Jimin sits up, placing a hand on Tae's shoulder. "I'm the one who's sorry. I know how much Kook means to you."
Tae sniffles, "see why I've been avoiding him now?" Jimin nods, wrapping an arm around his shoulder and bringing him closer. "We can fix this. We definitely can." "How?" Tae asks in a whimper, trying not to cry. The sight breaks Jimin. He never wants to see his best friend hurt. Then, his heart stops. He doesn't want to see anyone hurt. Including Y/N. But guess what he did? He fucked up.
"You know what... I have a plan." Tae looks up at him. "What? A plan?" Jimin nods, "we hang out with our lovers. Future lovers, I mean." Tae laughs, then realizes Jimin's serious. His face falls, "wait what? How?" "Let's take a day to set it up... but here, let me explain everything..." Jimin's determined. No matter what, he knows it.
He's going to win Y/N's heart
