Jaemin slowly climbed the stairs to his old house. It was 12:00 and he didn't know what he was supposed to do if they didn't answer. He knocked on the door a couple of times, ringing the bell once.
They answered.
Well, his mom did.
She opened the door and looked him up and down, her face contorting into a sweet smile as she reached out to embrace the boy.
"Oh my Jaeminie I missed you so much-" Jaemin took a step back from his mom.
"Mom, I'm not here for some reunion. I'm here for answers." Mrs. Na looked taken aback.
"Oh? Well then, come in I guess." She said, stepping aside and gesturing for her son to enter. Jaemin did and began to head to the living room, his mother following close behind.
He sat down on the couch, watching as his mother did the same, and sat beside him. Jaemin looked at her expectantly.
"Where's dad?" He asked, noticing his father's absence. The word 'dad' felt so foreign on his tongue, it almost felt wrong to be saying that.
Jaemin was going to be sure his child got the family he never had.
"Oh, yes... Your father is upstairs resting at the moment. Should I go get him?" She asked sweetly. Jaemin nodded.
"That would be preferred..." He muttered. His mother got up and began to head out of the living room, leaving Jaemin to his thoughts.
His mother didn't seem to have any issues. She seemed kind and caring, but Jaemin knew that she was hiding something more. He knew that there was more to all of this than what they were saying.
Before he knew it both his parents were in the living room, both sitting on the couch and watching him carefully.
"This better be good." His father grumbled. Jaemin clenched his jaw, letting out a huff before nodding.
"It is." He said. The silence that took over after was thick with tension. His father glaring at him while he reflected the look, more hate hidden in his expression than his father. Jaemin almost thought he saw something like fear in his dad's eyes.
"Why did you come back," Jaemin asked simply. His father scoffed.
"Is that any way to treat your parents after we just got home?" He asked. Jaemin rolled his eyes.
"You've had practically two months I think you're settled enough to explain why the fuck you're here. You don't just come back after years of abandoning your child for nothing. You're trying to get something out of all this. What are you getting out of it? Why are you here?" He asked, his anger beginning to bubble over. His father opened his mouth to speak.
