"I got the chips!"

"I got the drinks and the movies."

Angelica and Drista hurried to the living room, immediately jumping on the couch while their hands still held onto the closed drinks and snacks. It was currently 8:16 PM, they had been out shopping at 6 PM until 8, where, thankfully, Miss Maira had set up everything for the two.

"Do you want to start with being happy, being angry, being scared, or being scared?" Angelica asked, grabbing the controller on one hand while the other dug itself into the orange and black bag of the Hot Cheetos.

"Let's start with a happy one so we can end heartbroken at the end when we watch something sad," Drista nodded, a smirk on her lips as she toyed around with the food they had gone out to buy, too.

"Alright."

It had been a few hours later after that eventful event with her mom and therapist. Clearly, Angelica wasn't going to forgive her mom that quickly, but she did feel some type of relief and a huge weight leave her shoulders when she did hear the sincere apology. That was all she wanted.

Genesis knows what had happened and was even surprised to see that her sister was wearing shorts for the first time in a few, only receiving a "my legs look good" and a small smile.

Angelica didn't want to depend her growing confidence on situations or people. Yes, Dream was there but he uplifted and helped her begin whereas her mom helped her know that she wasn't what her mom always told her she was. For the first time in years, Angelica finally felt like she got her body back after having it taken away by her mom.

As the two watched Mrs. Doubtfire, Angelica couldn't help but let her smile vanish after she laughed, eating her strawberry shortcake as usual. But, as she eyed the delicious desert, she thought about Dream. It didn't hurt as much as it did before, thinking about him. Now, she enjoyed thinking about him, but... She missed him. After all, they were friends who lost each other in the way of their unmatched feelings and denial. It was neither of their fault. Dream wasn't ready and unbeknownst to Angelica, she wasn't ready either.

Dream and Angelica had toxic people once in their lives. Dream had his ex while Angelica had her mom. They were both hurt along the way, giving them thoughts filled with self-hatred and insecurities that made them constantly judge themselves in whatever situation they were given.

When Dream kissed Angelica, he truly meant that kiss. He truly meant it, but, as he registered what he had done, he felt ashamed. Surely, Angelica would notice that he wasn't perfect or boyfriend material because that's surely what his ex noticed along the way. That's the reason why she cheated on him, that's what he believed.

Angelica thought her feelings were clear. Yes, she loved him. But, she wasn't ready. She hated herself a bit and her mind was filled with lies. She felt ashamed and insecure being around Dream, after all, he was a 6'3, dirty-blonde, with green eyes that made him look unbelievably attractive. She couldn't match to that.

Neither of their decisions were their fault. Dream kissing her wasn't his fault. He liked her back then, but he thought she would leave him when she would notice he wasn't... lovable. Angelica, she knew her feelings, but how could she love someone else when she hated herself?

Nobody understands that if they had been together, the relationship wouldn't be healthy. They would've been on high alert because of their insecurities and there would've been issues involving their past.

"You're spacing off," Drista broke her out of her thoughts. "Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?"

"Nah," Angelica shook her head, going back to eating her desert.

"Mhmm, sure," Drista hummed sarcastically. "It's so not obvious that you're thinking about my brother and wondering how's he doing."

"I'm not thinking about that..."

"Sure you're not," Drista snickered as she continued looking at the TV. "Just because you're trying to tell yourself you're not thinking about him, doesn't mean you're going to tell me the same. I know you are. Hell, you have tears in your eyes which give away the fact that you're lying." At noticing the look of confusion on the older girl's eyes, she smiled a little. "I've been watching a lot of Criminal Minds."

"Mmm, makes sense," Angelica laughed under her breath before sighing. "I really miss him."

"Yeah, he misses you, too," Drista admitted. "I haven't seen him since you came to my house which was 6 days ago, but... I don't know. He just disappeared and before you start freaking out, he's fine. He texted my mom."

"I wasn't gonna start freaking out," Angelica mumbled, eating a strawberry. "I have no idea what you're referring to."

"Ha, m'kay," Drista laughed sarcastically, shrugging as she eyed Robin Williams on screen.

Angelica shook her head. "This is a sleepover so, no mentions of boys—"

"That's what usually happens in a sleepover, V," Drista chuckled at her friend, nudging her shoulder. Angelica nudged her back, snorting.

"Shut up. No boys! Well, no talk about your brother," Angelica clarified. "It's us time. So, mind free, mind calm, just junk food, we're good. After all, I have you for the weekend, too, so, also, no thoughts about him during those days."

"I wouldn't be surprised if you do," Drista tried to reassure. "I know how much you both are hurting by all of this, so don't worry if you think you're annoying me talking about my brother. I don't honestly care. I find you two adorable."

Angelica smiled a bit, playfully rolling her eyes as Gumbo laid down next to her. "Shut up. Watch the movie."

"Don't tell me to shut up," Drista scoffed, squinting her eyes at the girl who started to laugh at her actions. "I don't deserve this treatment."

"You, child. Watch the film. It's getting to the good part."

"I'm not Tommy, either. Stop calling me a child. You're a child."

"Alright, that's it. I'm taking you back home."

"I'm kidding! I'm kidding!"
