Chapter 8 : a change

Life is strange . Isn't it ? And it is weird and tiring and desappointing . Sometimes , it gives you hope then disappoints you . sometimes , it makes you happy then sad . Sometimes , it surprises yo with so many good things and happy moments and really right people then all of that disappears and you have yourself alone . Actually , the right sentence is " Life is a bitch " . In Emily's first day of work , Garrett didn't even want to look at her , he was so rude , arrogant and greedy and now he is waiting for her in front of her apartment . Really what's wrong with him ? When she decided to forget about him after all those fucking years and move on with her life , he is being fucking clingy and trying to ruin her life . Maybe , It's destiny . But at that moment - when she saw Garrett in the hallway - she just wanted to take a look at the future and know if he is going to be there or not . She wondered if it's him the right person , he seemed so tired and those blue eyes . Oh gosh . So freaking cute . Then a flash back of those bad memories of her and Garrett  . Then it's just nothing , black . Total black . She thought" Ok . Emily . It's okay . I'm gonna open my eyes and he will dissapear " But no , he didn't , he still sitting there .  She thought  that she is not going to get rid of him for a lifetime . Ryle didn't like the view so he frowned and began talking . He said

" What are you doing here ? "

They were starring at each other , jaws clenched . the pressure was so high that she wanted to disappear and let then cutting themselves in pieces " Hi first . And I was ... just...., I was just looking for a friend and I'm waiting for him

Ryle released an angry laugh " Ok then . Good night but could you just let us get in because the hallway is a little bit small

He did what Ryle suggented but he seemed so pathetic , because the three of them know that it can't be a coincidence and espicially Emily  . When they got in , she said : " What are you doing Ryle ? What you just did is so rude . I'm so disappointed "

Ryle's body fall on the couch " He is a bastard Emily . I bet that he was stalking us . Please he doesn't deserve our attention . Just change the subject

She rolled her eyes " Okay . Do you want some tea ? "

He nodded  " Your appartment is cute " She frowned " Since when you use the " cute" word ? " It was an open plan kitchen living room . So he was sitting in the living room and looking at her making the tea " I think since i met you " She looked at him while holding the cups and going to the livingroom " Actually , you really changed . I know , it has been so many years since we didn't see each other but you changed a lot . For example , me , i didn't change . I'm always the short and talkative girl . But you changed . Actually , you weren't funny . Don't get me wrong . But you were an introvert person , you didn't care about clothes . Now , you Clavin Klein and gucci " He interrupted her " Yes , life changes you . And we are not children , Emi " . She thought " Oh gosh , he called me Emi just like he used to call me yers ago . Okay , not a big deal "  Ryle's phone rang , he kept looking at it , so hesitant , she said smiling " Is it this mysterious girl ? " 

" No , my stepfather " He frowned " So answer " . So he answered . And after the call , he apologized because his mother needs for something . So he just took off . After multiple minutes , she heard a door click , she was terrified because no one came to her in that really late time . And guess who is it ?

Of course Garrett

She opened the door and said : " What do you want ? "

" Can I come in and I will tell you what I want "

She rolled her eyes then screamed " Fuck off Garrett . Stop your fucking bull shit and let me live my life Please I'm begging you . Please , why you don't want to understand that I'm happy without you , I'm really delighted  .Understood ? Fuckkkkk offfffff

She said then closed the door but he knocked an other time , and when she was going to scream at him , he shut her up by putting his finger on her mouth   and said so annoyed and scowling  : " I'm not here to beg you . I'm here to talk to you about a very important thing and it's about work . I think you forgot that we work together "

She blushed , it was so awkward and she almost faint in his arms , his touch was so soft and warm . Then she invited him in , they sit on the couch and said rudely : " So what is the problem ?   . and don't expect that I'm going to ask what do you want to drink?

He stayed calm for a while so she continued " Wait , wait , wait . You called your dad to let Ryle out of my apartment so he doesn't stay the night and you can talk to me .

He scowled " So he was going to stay all the night ? 

" But you did that . Didn't you ? "

" And he was going to stay all night " 

" Yes . Is that a problem ? . I think i'm a grown - up and  i can decide by myself who to let stay in my house all night " 

He scowled " Ok . I'm not here for that " 

She rolled her eyes " Yes , can you stop stalking me and tell what are you here ? " 

He scowled again " If you let me talk , i will tell you . But you just want to argue with me for argument's sake . " 

She smiled angrily " Okay , Mr . smart . Can you tell me why are you here ? " 

" So I'm suspecting that there is something wrong in the financial statistics of the company . And I'm pretty sure that there is someone who is taking the money's company to an anonymous account for himself . In other words , someone is robbing us

" And you came here to say to me that that someone is me ? "

He scowled again " No who said that ? I came here to ask you if you can help me to know who is that someone and he couldn't be you because you have just been hired but he is one of your team so do you accept my request ?

She cursed under her breath then hummed and said "  ok . No problem "

" Cool . You impressed me by the way . I didn't expect this understanding " 

" what do you mean ? . I'm literal- minded or self - absorbed ? " 

He scowled for the hundredth time " No , i didn't mean that . You know what ? . Never mind . Come tomorrow to my office and we will discuss this specifically and thank you for keeping this professional

" There is no this and please get out of my apartment . I just want to sleep "

" Ok .Stop being aggressive .I'm not fan of your apartment " 

She followed him to the door . And before closing the door , he said " Is there something between you and Ryle ? "

" If you tell me honestly why are you sooo concerned , i'll answer your question " 

He stared at her for a longgg second " For the company's sake  " 

" honestly ? "

" No , i'm lying to you " 

She touched her hair " Okay , we are just friends . And i don't owe you any explanation " 

He tried to hide a smirk even though it was so obvious " Okay , good night " 

" Good night "  

She was so angry and embarrassed after the screaming in the hallway and she couldn't even sleep thinking of the night and all the action in her life and more specifically about the anonymous thief
