Chapter 9 : Who is the bastard ?

Garrett , Garrett , Garrett . All that she could think about is Garrett . She thinks about him before she sleeps , in her dreams , after she wakes up , on her way to the company . She couldn't understand what the fuck was going on with her ? . She couldn't stop or control herself . It's devastating . when she got to the company , she saw him , she felt butterflies in her stomach he was so classy , attractive and handsome like always . His blue eyes , those pretty blue eyes are  her weakness .  She thought  : " Ok , what's wrong with me ? I need to focus . Emily , you need to find the bastard who rob the company and focus on your work . Okay , take several deep breaths . In and out . In and out , yeah , I feel fine now " . while inhaling and exhaling , she saw Mr. Aspen -the cleaner- who was sitting in a chair , holding his breaths . He seemed so tired ,s he greeted him then said : " Are you Ok ? , you seem so exhausted , do you need any help ? "

He looked at her " I'm ok . Thank you . You know , I'm an old man . But you seem tired too . Is there a problem ? "

She released a lonnnggg sigh " Yes . I feel helpless . I want to forget about someone . I really tried , so hard . But I couldn't . It's like drugs . You want to stop but you can't . Oh GOD . It's better than drugs

He laughed " Ohh . Your problem seems so complicated . I wish you luck , young lady  "

" I don't know how I got myself into this mess ? " She asked , not even needing an answer because she knows how and how to get out of it but she doesn't want too

" Okay , maybe i have a solution . Did you know this expression " when life gives you lemons"

" Make lemonade " she said interrupting him

" No  ' When life gives you lemons , make sure you know whose eyes you need to squeeze them in' "

" Ok . Thank you , old Man . I have to go to work . Take care of yourself and try to be careful . Have a good day " she said smiling , a fake smile because that day , the last thing that could happen to her is a happiness .

 And She left  wondering how in the hell she ended with an eighty old man as a best friend and an advisor . Soo odd ! . Then she remembered that she has an appointment with Garrett . She didn't find the assistant at her desk so she just knocked and get in . He was having a phone call on the terrace . She had a seat and  thought : " I wonder with whom he is talking right now ? maybe girlfriend or maybe with some guy just talking about work . Okay , let's be realistic . If he has a girlfriend , i think must have talked about her . Eventually , he is his half brother  .  Emily , stop these assumptions , for fuck's sake .But i still think that he doesn't have a girlfriend "

He came  so she said " Sorry , i got in without your permission " He looked at her " No problem " and asked her " do you want a drink ? " but she said "no" then he sit  and explained " Ok then . The thing is when I was checking the financial statistics , I noticed that there are a lot of money which was transferred to an anonymous account and when I asked the bank , they refused to tell me because they have to respect their customers' privacy . Even when I tried to use my leverage and talked to the chief financial officer , he hanged up the phone on me

She didn't expect that someone can insult Garrett and when she began laughing , he scowled " Can you let me finish ? " 

" I didn't say a word " 

" You were laughing "

" I remembred a funny thing " 

He scowled again "  So you weren't listening to me " 

" No , i were . It was a flashback . Can stop arguing and continued . I don't have all day "

So he continued with an intimidating look : Ok , so now I need you to observe every single one of the team , even Ryle . Try to notice their clothes , shoes, wristwatches. .. anything that seems expensive and they can't afford it . And if you notice anything suspicious you need to tell me anytime

 She frowned " Do you mean that you suspect Ryle ? . It's impossible , Why would he even do that ? It's so stupid 

" I guess we will never know . And don't tell anyone , absolutely no one even Ryle . I know you are very close so try not to ruin everything

When he said these words , she felt a flash of irritation in his face and noticed that he was baring his teeth

" Ok , I won't ruin your plan .Can I go now ? "

" Yes . But you absolutely need to tell me every up - date " 

 She nodded and  got out , so confused . She thought " No way . It can't be Ryle . He just hates him so much . I swear he is a freak and a psychopath . He will stay alone the rest of his life . God , Can I stop this bull shit and focus on my work . So now I have a big mission . I will name it : " Who is the bastard ?" Although there is one bastard and that's Garrett BUT any way , I will find this thief . I'm so excited
