I felt fingers trace my bareback, I moved and looked up. Daryl looks down at me "did I wake you?" I shake my head no and turn to face him. "I've got to go out with Rick and Carol for a little bit I'll be back." He says and gets out of bed. "I'll be here" I say snuggling up to a pillow and drift back to sleep.
I finally decide to get up. I get dressed and grab my sword. "Told you they were still alive Y/N." I hear Merle say, "can't blame me for giving up." "Old Y/N would never give up." "Yea? Lot of thing the old me would do and not do Merle. Drop it." I walk out of my house and onto the streets. I walk around the community and I see Carol. I walk up to her "hey Carol." "Hey Y/N What are you up to this morning?" "Just walking around getting some air." "I think Daryl made his way to Aaron's house if your looking for him." She says smirking at me. "Thank you. Carol I'll head that way now." I say, I wonder what she was smirking at. We say our goodbyes and I make my way to Aaron's house. I see Daryl and Aaron talking on the porch, "hey guys." They both look at me. "Well good morning Y/N I promised you could go with us and we're going out today you still up for it?" Aaron asks. "Hell yes I'm ready to be out." "Me and daryl will get the stuff ready Eric's up if you want to talk to him." "I actually do" I say laughing. I go into the house to find Eric in the kitchen. He turns around and laughs "well Y/N did you have a good time last night?" "I don't know what your talking about" "your neck says other wise." He says laughing harder. I run to the bathroom to see what he is talking about, I look in the mirror and there just hickeys all over my neck. "What hell" I whisper, Eric comes in "do you want some help covering those?" I look at him with pleading eyes "yes please." He laughs and starts helping me cover them. "So I would say the dinner date after party went well?" "We may or may not have you know had some fun time to ourselves." I say embarrassed. "Look at you go girl." "Shut up" I say rolling my eyes. After we cover up my neck I head back outside to the boys. I avoid any eye contact with them, "you ready Y/N?" Daryl asks me and I nod my head and get on the back of his bike, and We start heading out on our recruit run. We're trying to get more good people in our community. We have a lot of people already but it's good to have more. We drive for a while until it's about night time and we stop in this small field. Daryl goes out to scout around us, "there's more of them around here than there used to be." Aaron says. "Somethings got to be-" "Shh" Daryl cuts me off. He points out into the woods, there a small light coming from the trees "someone's out here." "Are we gonna go or wait for day?" Aaron asks. "We wait we don't want to go into something unexpected." Daryl says. "Well guess this is camp for the night." I say sitting on the hood of the car.
Aaron is sleeping in the back seat of the car while me and Daryl are keeping watch. "You could have given me a a warning this morning." I say to him. "Huh?" "My neck you dumbass you let me walk out of the house like that." "Well now people know your mine." I roll my eyes. "i'm pretty sure they always knew I was yours Daryl."
The sun is now rising and Daryl goes out again to scout around us. When it's clear we get Aaron up and stash our cars then walk towards where the light was last night. We make our ways through the forest and came up on different body parts cut up everywhere. "Whoever did this took what was left with them." "Daryl these don't look like they were dead." I say examining the body parts. "This just happened." He says and we go deeper into the forest. I've got my sword out making sure no one comes from behind, we walk up to a tree where a body is tied up. "She's tied up, and they fed on her. Tore her apart. This just happened?" Aaron asks Daryl and he nods his head. "I don't think we want these people as recruits. We better be careful." Daryl lifts up the girls head and there's a "W" carved into her head. We head back to our cars and drive out some more. We stop and head into the woods. Aaron talks about if we find someone we set back and watch them to know if they are good. He tells the story of how a group didn't work out for the community when he brought them in so he makes sure it doesn't happen again. We find one person and we start following them and watching them. "We checked the forest, we checked the roads, we can't find him." Aaron says. Yea we may or may not have lost the person we were tracking. We got lead to this building with walkers around it, they talk about what to do as I walk around a little bit to see what we're dealing with. "Y/N" Daryl calls out to me and I walk back. "We're going in" Aaron says. We kill all the walkers and open the gate to get in, we start walking around the trucks that are parked there. Daryl goes to open one of the trucks and the back is just filled with walkers with the"W" on their head. The other trucks start to open up, we run trying to get away but there's a lot. We climb under a truck but the walkers start crawling after us, we finally get in a car and the walkers gather all around it. "The glass will hold for a while right?" Aaron asks. "'Maybe we can make it where they don't see us, in a couple of hours something will come by they'll follow it out. There's got to be something in here we can use to block the view, we can cut up the seats." Daryl says. I start looking and pull out a note that says "trap bad people coming don't stay." "Uh guys" I say showing them the note. Daryl takes it and looks at it, "well this is a fun adventure." I say sarcastically.  "I came out here not to feel all closed up back there. Even now this still feels more like me than back in them houses. That's pretty messed up huh?" Daryl says. "You we're trying" Aaron says. "I had to." "No you didn't, listen I say you with your group out there on the road. Then you went off on your own by the barn. Storm hit and you led your people to safety. That was it, I knew I had to bring you people back and the fact that I remember Y/N talking about y'all." Aaron says smiling back at me. "But you were right, we should have kept looking for that guy in the poncho. I shouldn't have given up, you didn't." Aaron says. Daryl puts a smoke in his mouth "I'll go, I'll lead then out while y'all make a break for the fence." "Absolutely fucking not Daryl thats a death wish." I say. "Y/N right this was my fault." "It wasn't a question and this ain't y'all's decision, it ain't no ones fault. Just let me finish my smoke first." "No you don't draw them away, we fight. We go to the fence together. weather we make it out or not, we do it together." Aaron says. "All right y'all ready?" Daryl asks. "Yea." I say. I pull my sword out, "we go on 3, 1 2,-" before Daryl can finish theres a gun shot, and Aaron's door opens. We head out and start killing and make our way to the fence. We close it and look at the guy that just helped us "thank you, I'm Aaron this is Daryl and Y/N" "Morgan." The guy says. "Why?" Daryl asks him. "Why? Because all life is precious Daryl." Morgan says. I smile "I like this guy can we keep him?" Morgan looks at me and smiles. "Whoever set that tap they're coming. I have good news, we have good news. We have a community not to far from here. Wall, electricity's it's safe. We'd like you to come-" "I thank you. But I'm on my way somewhere. Fact is I'm lost so..  if you could tell me where we are." Morgan says handing Daryl the map. Daryl looks at the map and back to Morgan "what is it Daryl?" I say looking at the map. There's a letter from Rick on the map, I look at Morgan and smile. "Well Morgan I'm glad you came across us and Rick will be happy to see you!" I say. "You know Rick?" "Yes sir he's in our group and now apart of this community." I say. "Well isn't this a small world after all." Morgan says. We head back to the cars and head home. We finally get home and out the cars up and go and find everyone. We find a light coming from a backyard and then screaming. We head over to see what's happened and we look in Rick shoots someone and we all look at him in shock. "Rick?" Morgan says and Rick looks at us. What the hell have we missed?
