One and Only

3. Bruises.

Amber POV
  "Amber?!" I heard him call for me after he checked the last stall. I couldn't let him see me, not in this condition.

Bang.

Bang.

I flinched, he was trying to kick down the doors.

Bang.

There was one more until he'd find me.

Bang.

The door burst open and there he stood, breathing heavy.

"Kingston." He said with a breath of relief. I didn't say anything. "Come here" he said and I did, he wrapped his arms around me, one around my shoulders and one around my head caressing my hair.

He actually cared about me.

" I'm sorry" Was all I managed to say before a tear escaped my eye.

"Don't  be sorry, there's nothing to be sorry about" He said with a calm voice, one I haven't heard before.

I didn't wrap my arms around him, I was to scared that he would touch the spots again.

"Why are you bleeding Kingston?" He said breaking the silence with more of a stern voice this time. I tensed up not knowing what to say.

"Don't worry about it" He let go and looked down at me. I didn't look up.

"Let me see your arms" He said while rolling up my sleeves. There was only one bruise on my left arm.

"Okay um... let me see your legs" He said sort of nervously.

"Excuse me?" I said as if he were joking.

"Don't flatter yourself, I just wanna make sure your okay" He said back in the calm, handsome, voice like before.

"Well I'm gonna tell you right now there is nothing on my legs" He looked at me and rolled his eyes.

"Fine then let me see your stomach" I panicked as soon as he said that. I didn't know what to do, run? Let him see?

I couldn't.

"Well, now I know there is something on your stomach. I promise I won't touch anything, just let me see." I was tired of running so I lifted my shirt up slowly, and his eyes grew wide.

" Kingston I-" He stuttered.

" I know" Was all I said before pulling my shirt back down and walking out. I didn't know where to go, but all I wanted to do was cry. I've never shown anyone my injuries, the next thing he'll say is 'who did that to you' and there is no way in hell I'd tell him, nor anyone else.

After I left, I took I night walk outside by the lake and sat down on the edge. I took a few deep breaths and calmed myself down until I heard a voice.

"Hey Amber" They said it softly. I turned around and saw Blaise. He's probably my closest friend here at Hogwarts, I tell him everything. Except for my dad and what he does to me.

"Hey B" I said turning back around as he sat down next to me.

" I was just wondering why you ran out so quickly" He said calmly.

I looked at him. " I got a sharp pain in my side" Was all I said.

"Are you alright?" He asked worried.

"Yeah don't worry about it, but we should probably get back, school is tomorrow." I stood up and held my hand out. He grabbed it and stood himself up. And we walked back to our room hand in hand not saying a word.

The next day I woke up with no one else in their beds. "Shit" I sat up and then saw Pansy in the bathroom brushing her teeth. I fell back on my bed dramatically, rubbing my eyes.
