"it started long before you think it did. Chaerin's parents were married for nearly 3 years and had no child, no matter how hard they tried. they had fights, several of them and eventually her dad started to have affairs. which led to him getting a woman pregnant with his child, hyesoo. they did everything they could to hide it from Chaerin's mother, like changing the surname. and then the news came out on August that Chaerin's mother was pregnant with her first child, Chaerin. everything was normal, and everyone was happy. her dad didn't want to risk her mother ever finding out about the affair and his other child....something about not being able to get the korean airline business in his name...I have no idea."
"so what happened? if no one knew then what happened?"
"chaerin...found out. she found the DNA files which showed her dad was hyesoo's father. at this point she was still young....but you don't need to be old enough to understand that matching DNA meant family"
"and so what? she bullied Hyesoo because of that-"
"no..no you've got it all wrong...there was no bullying incident. when Chaerin found out about the DNA test, she confronted her dad about it angrily, for lying to her and her mother all this time. her father thought Hyesoo told her the truth and he was beginning to threaten Hyesoo. eventually..she died of suffocation, you can even check her autopsy reports, she was choked to death...by him"

"her father didn't want her mother to find out, again it was about the business thing, so he found me, I used to work in a scientology hospital group before....we had practices like reliving traumatic events to come to terms with them....I was surprised he was asking me to make chaerin forget her memories.
so I got a job in this hospital. and treated her for dissociative amnesia, but really we were pumping diazepam into her system to make her forget the previous and recent events. if we did it in high dosages it could have a fatal effect on her since she was young, so we had to space out the doses in appointments, each of those 42 appointments were for this.
when she finally forgot enough, I explained to her...a completely new story. that she bullied Hyesoo, being jealous of her and eventually Hyesoo committed suicide. god I saw her face grow pale and.....she was so young and she blamed herself for the death of a girl she barely knew properly....all because he asked me to"
"why...did you do this?"
"for money.....he offered me a large sum of money and....I have a family of my own I need to take care of....so I followed according to his orders. its not like I wanted to, I, myself grew attached to Chaerin and her bright personality, she didn't deserve it....I did what I had to do"

"this is insane, are you serious? son, this better be the tru-"
"dad, I just showed you a recording of him saying this...what more evidence do you need?!" haechan asked angrily
"honey...we need to take care of this....for Chaerin's sake-"
"this incident could drag the hospital's name and reputation Dow-"
"reputation...so that's all it's ever going be right? let me tell this...Chaerin's dad also cared about reputation, more than his own two daughters....and one of them is dead while another is in a coma, so you tell me, dad... is reputation really this important?" haechan asked, narrowing his eyes at his father who was sighing, stress lines evident on his forehead after the truth had unfolded
"we can take care of the press later, I need to get my daughter back....please....I'm begging you" Chaerin's mother begged, kneeling onto the ground slowly making haechan and his mom rush to her side trying to make her stand
"don't do this heejin-ah, honey, please....we must take responsibility for this! her daughter's life is on the line" Haechan's mother said to his father who was weighing out the pros and cons
"if she doesn't make it out alive, I won't either. you can forget all this shit about reputation if she dies because of your ignorance, since when was a person's life so small to consider?" haechan said
"is that a threat?"
"no...its a warning. I won't hesitate putting you in jail, father or not....so make your decision, are you on my side or not" haechan said once more, walking out of the head office to see jaemin and renjun outside.
"what did your dad say?" jasmin asked but haechan only sighed and shook his head making them both sigh. the sound of footsteps made the three look up at the girl who was approaching them.
"didn't I tell you to not show your face here aga-"
"yeah...I know. but I can't leave without doing at least this much" she said, handing brown envelopes to haechan.
"what is all this?" he asked
"....copies of the files from Leetuk on Hyesoo and Chaerin...they're both-"
"half sisters...yeah...we know. you had this all along?" haechan asked her in disbelief
"yeah...I was meant to reveal it to her slowly but...anger and jealousy got the best of me when I saw how close you two were... will you give her this as well?" she asked, passing a small white envelope to haechan
"what's this?" he asked
"an apology letter....its not much but...she deserves to hear it...after everything I've put her through"
"why...did you do it anyway?" haechan asked
".....because....because I liked Hyesoo. I knew her.....and I thought....I thought Chaerin really did...drive her to suicide because that's what she told me but.....now that I found out about her father and that drug scandal i-.....jesus what the hell is really going on?!" soyeon asked, tears brimming her eyes.
"you know you don't have to be a coward right? you can apologise to her yourself...."
"yeah but...I figured its best if I stay out of her hair from now on....I'm moving to Italy for college, my flight is in 2 hours. jeno already knows but I just came to...say goodbye" she said, with a slight bow of her head, before she strutted off with heels outside of the hospital.
