The next morning did not come peacefully.
I dreamt that Xuelian and I had crossed blades and try as I might to fend off her blows her spear struck fast and fierce, her attacks whittling down my defenses to even my sword lay on the ground besides me.
Then she threw down her spear before holding me close. I felt a sense a calm, forgiveness, and respite.
That was until a sharp pain rang through my chest.
Her hand pulled back drenched in blood andbviserca.
Blood pooled in mouth, I stepped back looking at her.
I instinctively heard her say 'You coward, I'll never forgive you. You're a spineless wretch!'
I looked down seeing the hole in my chest before collapsing to the ground.
In an instant I awoke, my heart pounding, my vision blurry.
I got up, looked in the mirror. I looked miserable. I practiced putting on the best smile I could, got my things and then left the room.
Down in the lobby was Mani and Suna waiting for me.
"Hey Tsubasa," Suna called out before pausing, "are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine, just a bad dream," I said dismissing it with smile.
"...Okay," she replied.
