We pushed forward through the darkness facing several waves of those creatures.
Suna and Mani were both determined to not have their creatures explode before we could dispatch them.
Several times we failed to do so, each resulting in an explosion of viscera and flesh.
Each time I could feel how much Suna was shaken up by it. Mani on the other hand seemed to be grounding numb and detached. Neither one was handling this well.
The sensation, the stench, and the sight was all too realistic. Even I felt myself gag a few times.
We slowly made our way through the labyrinthine tunnels. We eventually came to a larger room filled with cages and prisons, in each were writhing bodies.
As we passed by many of the doors began to creak open releasing the pitiable creatures inside.
Some crawled along the ground moving toward us other moaned and groaned, clawing at us.
One by one we dispatched the enemies.
Without warning one took off running, toward Suna, while howling loudly.
"Ehhkk!!" She froze in place her eyes widened like a deer in headlights.
"Suna!" I called out, while facing down three enemies.
