Prologue

Everything was over...

He had lost everything he held dear in his life...
No matter how hard he tried he had messed everything up...and people who cared for him payed for it...
Wei Ying thought to himself...

Why are you still alive Wei Wuxian...?

Wei Ying thought tears rolling down his eyes...

Wei Ying closed his eyes and took a deep breath...

He took a step backwards...

As he was falling down the cliff Wei Ying felt his hand being caught...

He open his eyes to see that it was Lan Zhan...

And duelled with the most beautiful person in Gusu

But I always end up becoming someone that the folk tales talk about...

"Lan Zhan..."
He called him with a sad smile...
Lan Zhan's hold on his hand tightened...

Wei Ying looked at him worried as blood dripped down the wounds staining the youngest of the Twin Jades immaculate white robe...

"Lan Zhan...let go of me..."
Wei Ying said to him tensed...
But Lan Zhan's hold tightened inspite of the injuries...

It was then Wei Ying and Lan Zhan saw Jiang cheng walking towards them...

"Jia...ng Wa...yin..."
Lan Zhan muttered seeing the hatred in the man's eyes as he came towards them brandishing his sword from which blood was dripping...

"Jiang Cheng..."
Wei Ying called seeing his shidi walk towards him...

"Wei Wuxian..."
Jiang Cheng spat his voice filled with his hatred for him...

Wei Ying closed his eyes sadly hearing the hatred in his brother's voice...

Wei Wuxian...What else were you expecting from Jiang Cheng after everything that had happened...?

"GO TO HELL..."
Jiang Cheng shouted at Wei Ying stabbing hard on an unstable rock on the side of the mountain...

Realizing that Lan Zhan would be in danger too Wei Ying applied every bit of strength to break Lan Zhan's hold...

"Wei Ying..."
Lan Wanji called out in pain, as the man he loved, Wei Wuxian disappeared right in front of his eyes, devoured by the abyss..

I was also once stunned by someone
And my fingers teased a pattern of swirling clouds
Unintentionally caused the qin string to tremble
