Chapter 57

"You are lady boss?"

"Yes I am"

"Hajia babba I never thought you wouldn't recognise me" she said moving forward

"Can you please elaborate?"

"Can you remember your co- wife's niece that your co wife wanted to hook Abubakar with? It's me"

"Nafisa!?" Hajia baba was too shocked to say the least. She knew Her co wife's sister had two daughters but she never knew it was Sadiya and Nafisa and it's not like she knows their mother that much or Even Sadiya. She can only say something on Nafisa but not Sadiya and it's surprising that she didn't see her co wife's sister and her children in the wedding. Unknown to her that they went to Mami's house but refused to come to Hajia babba's house because they knew it was Abubakar's daughter. Even thou Nafisa refused to come to the wedding at all.

"Nafisa what is wrong with you do you know what you are saying?" Asked Mami

"Yes Sadiya"

"Can you introduce yourself?"

"My Name is Nafisa Ahmad Saraki. Twin sister of Sadiya Ahmad Saraki. Hajia babba is my auntie's co wife. Years back, My auntie knows that I loved Abubakar since when I knew him. So auntie Bilkisu tried to hook me with Abubakar but Hajia babba refused. After some months he met Ummah and albeit her coming from orphanage home, Hajia babba liked her. She married Him so I just decided to move on so I married Khadija's father. But what made me angry was when history repeated itself on my daughter. "You killed Ummah?!" Tim Tim and Muna asked in unison. If it was normally they would have bust out laughing but not in situations like this

"To hell with sorry!" Muna yelled standing up from her seat. She tried approaching her but was stopped by Naseer Tim Tim too was already in her front but Rabia was holding her

" You killed Maryam? How? Was she not sick?"

"Yes it was in the hospital. I dressed as a nurse and went in slowly trying not make sound. I used a pillow and kill... Killed her"

"Why did you decide to come and say the truth?"

"I couldn't bear it anymore. She appears in my dream now and then. I just can't take it anymore"

They gave her the Quran to swear and she took the Quran with trembling hands "I Nafisa Ahmad Saraki is guilty of Murder. I am saying the truth. Nothing but the truth"

The courtroom became silent and only hush wishers was heard and cries from those concerned while the barristers were busy on something and the judge was scribbling on a paper in front of him. He raised his head about to talk but was cut off by Mami

" I never thought my twin sister would kill a soul because of jealously " Mami said approaching her

"She's not your twin sister" A voice said coming into the place

"Mama?!" Nafisa and sadiya said in unison

"Who are you?"

"I am Hajia Jamila mother of Sadiya and Nafisa" sadiya and Nafisa couldn't even move because of shock
"What's happening? Is this not your grandmother Ya Naseer?"

"She is"

"What are you saying Mama?"

Flash back shows a lady walking with a bag of grocery and a child at her back. She stopped walking as the sound of a crying baby reached her ears. Just behind a tree she found a baby covered by only a shawl albeit the cold outside. She took the baby in a hurry as the baby's body was cold. She hid the baby in her hijab to feel warm. As she reached home, she brought the baby out and kept the baby on the bed. She untied the baby that was sleeping on her back and she kept her on the bed also. The baby she brought is now sleeping due to the warmth he felt. She stared at the baby wondering who is cruel enough to let the baby in this situation. Her husband walked in coming back from office and he stopped in his tracks when he saw two babies. One for sure is his daughter sadiya while the other...
