Chris

Hey y/n.
It's me, Chris.
I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you but I wanted to ask if you're okay.
After, you know, being screwed by that Tyler guy.

Hey Chris.
You're not disturbing me at all.
Yeah, I'm okay, thanks for asking.
It's nice of you.

Glad to know you think so.
I thought you would think I'm a maniac or something like that, hahaha.

I could never think something like that, hahaha.

If I can ask what are you doing now?

I'm at work now, but I don't have anything to work on.
What about you?

I'm home with my dog.
I was bored and I decided to text you.
I'm not working right now.

Part time job?

No.
It's a normal job, but I work only when they need me.

This sounds like a part time job to me.
Hahaha.

It sounds like that, but it isn't.
Hahaha.
But I can't tell you anything.
Sorry.
Contract.

It's okay.
Don't worry.
What's your dog's name, anyway?
Last night I forgot to ask you.

Dodger.

It's really a cute name.
Almost as cute as he.

I'm very sorry but one of my friends is calling me right now.
It's okay if I text you these days?
I want to know you.
I know it's awkward, sorry.

Sure thing.
I would like to talk with you.
It's not awkward, so don't worry.

If you say so, hahaha.
I gotta go.
Bye y/n.

Bye Chris.

I closed the phone and looked at Megan.
-I think he likes you.- she said smiling.
-Of course no. It's just the second day we talk.-
-Tell me what you want but I remain with my idea.- she said getting up and going to the computer -Anyway are we going eating here or at McDonald?-
-We don't have anything to eat here.- I said looking at her.
-So are we going to McDonald?-
-Yes, we are. But we're eating here.-
-Fine by me.- she said getting up.
Arrived at lunchtime and we left the studio, walking to the nearest fast food restaurant.
As we walked Megan and I chatted about this and that.
-If you're free this weekend we could go to the bar.- I said as we walked back to the studio, after having our lunch early.
-Yeah, it could work. We should try to get ourselves a boyfriend, oh sorry...you have Chris so I have to get myself a boyfriend.- she said smiling.
-I really don't know nothing about him.-
-But you will. He clearly wants to know you and you didn't refuse.-
-Just because he is nice this doesn't mean that he is interested.- I said opening the study door.
-Everything you say, girl.- she said she threw herself on the black leather sofa.
-And I don't think your crush for Aaron Jonhson would help you.- I said grinning.
-Hey.- she said pretend to be offended -I didn't see that coming.-
-Oh well...wait, it was a Marvel reference, wasn't it?- I said, rolling my eyes.
-Yeah, I'm impressed. How do you know?- she asked.
-Listening to you everyday teach me something.-
-You should watch them, I'm sure you'll love it.-
-Let's focus on our work, ok? Not on boys or movies, or anything. Just work.-
-Sure, girl. But now chill and eat.- she said handing me my hamburger.
Immediately after eating I started editing some photos and at 6 pm it was over.
-Meg! I finished.- I said stretching.
-It was time, for God sakes.- she said as she approached and looked at the screen.
-Are they good?-
-Hell yes. The wait was long but it was worth it. They're amazing.-
-Really? Do you really mean it?-
-Of course. Why should I lie to you? You're my friend.- she smiled at me.
More or less two months passed and Chris and I continued to hear and know each other.
We talked about anything.
I loved talking to him.
He always knew how to make me laugh and how to make me feel better.
I considered him a friend, maybe even something more, since every time I saw his name on the screen my heart skipped a beat.
But as the weeks went by I realized that I knew very little about him, as he often asked questions about me but when I asked him questions, he answered very vaguely.
After a while I began to think he was kidding me.
-What should I do?- I asked Meg, drinking some coffee.
-You should talk to him and tell him how you feel. And you shouldn't jumping to conclusion.-
-What if he doesn't answer?-
-At that point you'll try to call him. If he answers, you two will talk. If he doesn't you will block him. Easy, isn't it?-
-I'm so scared, Meg.- I said covering my face with my hands.
-Girl, it's gonna be fine. Trust me.- she gave me an encouraging smile as she went out and I picked up the phone.
